The Army Ants recently qualified for the FIRST World Championship in Houston, Texas! At the St. Louis Regional, we won the most prestigious award in FIRST, the Impact Award, and our mentor, Dr. C, was honored with the Woodie Flowers Award. 🥳🥳

At the Rocket City Regional in Alabama, we also won the Engineering Inspiration Award, and Aneesh Calyam, a Junior on the team, won the FIRST Leadership Award! 🎉🎉

REGIONAL RECAP!! 🐜🐜

The Army Ants attended two regionals this season, the St. Louis Regional and the Rocket City Regional in Alabama. 🥳🥳

In St. Louis, we were very happy to be selected by Team 8719 (Oakville Dynamics) for Alliance 6 in playoffs! Dr. C, one of our mentors, won the Woodie Flowers Award, and we won the most prestigious award in FIRST, the Impact Award!! 🤩🤩

In Alabama, we won the Engineering Inspiration Award, and one of our team members, Aneesh Calyam, won the FIRST Leadership Award. 🎉🎉

The Ants are officially Houston bound! We’ll see you all at the FIRST World Championship!! 😄😄

It's been an exciting day in Houston! Army Ants finished division qualifier matches this evening ranked number 9 in the Daly division (75 teams)!! 7 am tomorrow is alliance selection for the division playoffs. The winning alliance from each division -- the top 8 alliances -- go on to the finals!

Taking 29 students, 5 mentors, a 100-pound robot, and all the equipment needed to repair it from Columbia to Houston for 5 days is no small feat! If you can chip in to help us defray expenses, we will be endlessly grateful!

CERF is our Columbia nonprofit organization for FIRST robotics. Besides Army Ants, CERF helps fund FIRST LEGO League and FIRST Tech Challenge teams through CPS. We have a NEW workshop space for all teams that we are fundraising for through the COMO Gives campaign. Please SHARE and help if you can!
