Representatives from the 7 towns on the Hop River State Park Trail enjoyed a 17 mile ride organized by the Hop River Trail Alliance. A good time was had by all as they learned about sections from each others’ towns. A big thank you to Loom City Cycles for a rental used on the ride and to the transportion team of Bev and Barbara.

Last Thursday, CT Dept of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) held its first ever Outdoor Recreation Day at the CT State Capital Building in Hartford. HRTA Volunteers engaged with numerous Legislators (Thank you to all that stopped down to visit), DEEP Commissioners and Managers, as well as the other 30+ Outdoor Recreation related vendors. It was a great event for HRTA to participate in and advocate for the Hop River State Park Trail.

The inaugural Connecticut Outdoor Recreation Day is this Thursday April 30, 2026, from 2:00–5:00 p.m. in the North Lobby of the State Capitol in Hartford. The event highlights CT-based outdoor industries, retailers, and guides to showcase the state's $6 billion outdoor recreation economy, which is open free to the public to attend. Hop River Trail Alliance will be there. Stop by and see us.
