🥗 Short list of solid food options in and around Columbia, with when/where/how to get help. I’m prioritizing places with consistent hours and clear eligibility.
SC 2-1-1 (United Way) – text “HELP” to 211-211 or dial 211 to get the closest open food assistance the same day. They’ll look up what’s operating right now
Columbia + nearby (most reliable)
1. Harvest Hope Food Bank – Midlands Emergency Pantry

2. The Cooperative Ministry (Mary’s Pantry / Vouchers)
3821 West Beltline Blvd, Columbia, SC 29204 • M–Th 9a–2p for emergency food; also issues vouchers to partner food banks. Bring photo ID and Social Security card if you have them.

3. The Salvation Army of the Midlands – Social Services

4. St. Joseph Catholic Church – St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry
Devine St campus (parish site lists SVDP pantry) • Wednesdays 8:30a–11:30a. Address & contact: 3600–3512 Devine St (campus spans both numbers); confirm when you call.

5. Rehoboth United Methodist Church – Food Pantry

8. FoodShare South Carolina (Fresh Food Box – produce at low cost / SNAP accepted)

• Richland Library “Eat Fresh Freely” Community Fridges – free produce, no questions asked, at select branches (St. Andrews, Northeast, Eastover, North Main). Open during library hours. Great for quick fresh items between pantry trips.
