Kindred Hearts South Carolina is honored to be featured as Carolina Champions on WACH 57! 🎥✨

A special thank you to Kei’Yona Jordon for capturing our mission so beautifully. The feature highlights Board Chair Alexis W. Scurry and Dr. Kimberly A. Janha, Co-Founder & CEO, and the work Kindred Hearts SC is doing to ensure kinship care families know they are not alone.

This was also an opportunity to share an important message: Kinship care is not simply a child welfare issue—it is a healthcare, policy, and social issue.

On October 6, 2026, Dr. Janha had the opportunity to ask Dr. Annie Andrews a question about access to affordable healthcare for kinship caregivers and the children in their care. These conversations matter because caregivers need systems that recognize and support the realities of raising children within their families and communities.

We are grateful for every opportunity to bridge the gap, elevate the conversation, and advocate for kinship families. ❤️🌉
