We love Ally so much, we couldn't just leave it at one post to celebrate her 10 year anniversary with Face It TOGETHER! Today's post is brought to you by Kattie, our Director of Operations.

Happy work anniversary, Ally!

I don't know many people who can seamlessly move from a serious conversation to a five-minute dance party and somehow make both feel exactly right. Your thoughtfulness, kindness, and genuine care for others show up in everything you do.

As our Director of Communications, you have a remarkable way with words. More than once, you've taken my scattered thoughts and turned them into something that makes me sound far smarter than I am. It's a gift, and it's one of the many reasons our organization is stronger because of you.

What inspires me most, though, is your heart. You are an incredibly talented, beautiful human, yet you continue to approach life with humility, curiosity, and a commitment to your own growth and self-discovery. You remind those around you that becoming the best version of ourselves is a lifelong journey.

Thank you for the laughter, the wisdom, the dance breaks, and the countless ways you make Face It TOGETHER a better place. We're lucky to have you. - Kattie

Our beloved Director of Communications, Ally, is celebrating 10 years with Face It TOGETHER!

10 years ago, Ally walked through our doors as an intern and we have never been the same since.

I first encountered Ally's gift through her writing in her hometown newspaper. She had this rare ability to take stories about peoples' struggles and fill them with humanity. Real faces. Real feelings. Real compassion. The first time I met her in person, I knew she was something beyond special.

Since 2016, Ally has been one of our greatest cheerleaders, our most thoughtful challenger, and an inspirational storyteller. What makes Ally's gift of storytelling so powerful is that they are never just an account of someone's journey. Every story she tells is woven with emotion, empathy, and genuine care for the people living it. You feel it when you read her words. She has always been one of our strongest champions for making sure families are never left out of the conversation. The people who love someone struggling with addiction deserve to be seen, heard, and supported too. That belief shows up in everything she does and it has shaped the way we communicate our mission in profound ways.

Ally, the heart you bring to this work and have made Face It TOGETHER a better and more compassionate organization. We are so lucky to have you and all of your coffee fueled rabbit hole explorations. Happy 10 years. Here is to many more. - Kristen

Lately, we’ve been reflecting on the beliefs that continue to shape how we show up at Face It TOGETHER. 💚 We believe addiction healing can begin with the family, recovery is rarely linear and caring for each other matters just as much as caring for our members. Thank you for helping us build a different path to wellness for more than 15 years.

Despite navigating stressors and difficult emotions – emotions he used to suppress with alcohol — Jeremiah is enjoying life.

As a mom of a son with addiction, Janice learned an important lesson about the "illusion of control."

“Probably the most surprising thing to me about addiction is how powerless we really are as loved ones. As his mom, I thought I had more ability to make him change,” she said.
