We’re excited to kick off a new series of Financial Foundation Classes this year in partnership with Cyprus Credit Union! 💙

Benton will be our instructor, bringing helpful information and practical tips to each month’s class. We’ll be sharing a new flyer each month with the upcoming topic and class details.

Our first class is Banking 101, happening virtually on September 2 from 6–7 PM. The class will cover banking basics, savings and checking accounts, and smart money management.

Keep an eye out for each month’s class and join us as we build stronger financial foundations together!

We love our Arizona partners! Thank you to the Mohave County Continuum of Care, AZ Youth Partnership, and the Arizona Balance of State Governance Advisory Board for providing State of Arizona Domestic Violence Rapid Re-Housing funding and partnering with Cherish Families. We also thank Mohave County District 1 Supervisor Lingenfelter for his unwavering support and Kelly Williams with Cornerstone Mission for welcoming us to the Continuum. These funds will allow us to expand housing services in the Arizona Strip region. We look forward to a productive partnership.

Weekend Funtivities! Utah Tech's Trailblazer Connections: Honors Program spent their Saturday volunteering with us. One group worked at our our transitional housing project while the other stayed at our service center, where Uncle Alvin taught proper w**d hoeing technique.

Bonus: none of these students had ever been to Short Creek before! Thank you for showing up, working hard, and getting to know our community. We loved having you!

As kids head back to school, we're looking back on a summer of full bellies and community care. Our Summer Lunch program made sure kids who rely on school meals during the year didn't go without over the break.

Volunteer Coordinator Darlene Stubbs recruited her own sons, some of our youngest volunteers, to help run the program this summer, giving them an early lesson in what it means to show up for your community.

Thank you to St. Mary's Food Bank for partnering with us to keep this resource open all summer long.

We had a wonderful time connecting with so many people at this year's Sunstone Symposium!

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the Cherish Families booth to learn more about our programs, services, and mission. We enjoyed meeting attendees from a variety of backgrounds and having meaningful conversations about supporting individuals and families in our communities.

The Sunstone Symposium is an annual conference that brings people together to explore Mormon history, theology, culture, and art through keynote speakers, breakout sessions, and open dialogue. It was a privilege to be part of this unique event, and we're grateful for the opportunity to share the work we do.

If you visited our booth, it was a pleasure meeting you! We hope to see you again soon!

📚 Back-to-school season can be a big adjustment for the whole family.
New schedules, new routines, school supplies, and busy calendars can bring excitement; but they can also bring stress.

As everyone settles into the school year, remember that it’s okay to take things one day at a time. Small routines, open communication, and a little extra patience can make a big difference.

💛 There’s no perfect way to start the school year. What matters is supporting each other along the way.

A huge thank you to Colorado City Public Works for filling in and smoothing out the ruts left behind by the recent rain. We know how much effort it takes to keep our roads and community in good shape, and we truly appreciate your quick response and dedication.
