This organization was founded to support spay/neuter of feral cats in Colonial Beach.

The Mission of the Colonial Beach Humane Society, founded by Pat Fitzgerald, is to humanely control the feral cat population in CB through TNR and Colony Maintenance. With Pat Fitzgerald's permission, I have claimed this page and will administer the page for the Colonial Beach Humane Society.

Neighbors are wondering about the whereabouts of two friendly community cats that frequented the intersection of Sulgrave and Marshall in Colonial Beach. They were an orange tabby and a black and white cat. If anyone has seen them, please let us know. Thanks.

Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day is observed annually on August 28, falling on a Friday in 2026. This day honors the beloved pets who have passed away and crossed the metaphorical "Rainbow Bridge".

Founded by Deborah Barnes in 2015 to honor her late cat Mr. Jazz, the observance provides pet owners a dedicated time to process grief and celebrate the unconditional love of their animal companions.

Ways to Observe
🐾 Look through photos: Spend time revisiting pictures and happy memories of your pet.
🐾 Share online: Post a tribute using the hashtag .
🐾 Support shelters: Visit a local animal shelter, light a memorial candle, or make a donation in your pet's honor.
🐾 Place a Remembrance on the Rainbow Bridge Wall at Robin Grove Dog Park.
