Hello all, Nimah (animal-assisted counseling dog partner) and I are looking for a place to provide counseling from January through May 2021. Nimah and I have just completed and are certified as a team through the Texas State University program.
I work at a local Children’s hospital during traditional business hours Monday-Friday. So I am looking for something evening and some weekends if needed. Looking for roughly 8-10 hours a week of work toward our supervision hours for the finalization of our program.
I am an LCSW that created and ran a counseling program in my local community for two years for free, so I have experience but would love to continue to grow with Nimah by my side.
I am open to sliding scale or low-cost counseling, group work, or anything outside of the box, and possibly our work be performed for free depending on the responsibilities and workload.
I have a passion for working with LGBTQ+, Veterans, Teenagers, and adults. Though every new population I have worked with over the years has been extremely rewarding and I’ve grown from it.
If anyone knows of any leads, suggestions, counseling space I could rent for a low cost please feel free to comment in this thread or PM me.
I am looking in the HEB or Colleyville area, as I would need to leave work drive to Colleyville to pick Nimah up then drive around 5pm to the job site.
