Shopping on Saturdays for your bunnies needs helps us so much! Book a play date with the bunny burrow, volunteer we always need help and there is something for everyone. We are always open on Saturdays for shopping and adoption appointments 10-2.

Today was frustrating. When little Calypso woke up craving her greens this morning, she had no idea she was about to step into a (metaphorical) hornet’s nest.
Her owner is ill and could no longer care for her. Some family members tried to help find a safe place for Calypso to go. They went to their county shelter. The person at the shelter told them that they couldn’t help, but sent them on their way with a sticky note with our address. They arrived stressed with a bunny and supplies and said they had come to drop her off at the direction of the animal shelter… Our volunteer said…um, what?? 😩

Here’s the thing, Calypso and her family are exactly the type of situations we would love to be able to help with. Unfortunately there are SO MANY animals in similar situations and we receive requests every day for help. We simply cannot take them all. We’ve had to draw a line this year and have a no surrender policy. We are only able to help with true emergency situations where the animal is not in a home and has no where to go. Even then, we have pens set up in every possible space. We have multiple bunnies sharing kennels. We have every foster filled and way past the date we told them to expect to be fostering.

We are 💯 run on donations. Period. We get no government funding. We currently have no employees. We are just regular people who give every ounce of time and energy to helping animals that everyone else has rejected.

If you’ve followed us for a long time, you know that we have moved our bunny rescue location twice because of ongoing zoning debates. The very entity that told us we can’t exist and house bunnies in their city is the same entity that continues to send people to us when they need help with their bunnies. Make it make sense 🤯

I guess what I’m trying to say is, we deal with a lot of 💩 behind the scenes, but we do our best to keep our focus on the animals and making sure they don’t pay for the lack of human accountability.

Calypso is here. She’s safe. She’s adorable. And she needs someone that wants to make the world a little kinder to step up for her.

All of these sweet friends are up for adoption. Our longest residents are Heavy D,Thin Mint and Chocolate Chip. We want all of them to find their forever home. Each brings their own unique personality and need love and care.

When you put in an application it goes through a process, we carefully review and ask lots of questions. Once approved you can schedule an appointment and meet the bunny of your dreams. Sometimes those bunnies get adopted before you can get here, no we don’t hold rabbits or take a deposit. Aesthetics are great but personality matters and this is why we are ok if you meet 10 of them, I feel sometimes the rabbit chooses who they want. Once you have chosen your friend we have a shop full of goodies you can buy what you need and all the profits go back to all the care and medical needs of those still waiting!
