FIRST Robotics Team 1699 "The Robocats"

FIRST Robotics Team 1699 "The Robocats" Team 1699 is very involved in the community. This year we are also participating in the Relay for Life in East Haddham, CT.

FIRST Robotics Team 1699’s mission is to promote student interest in STEM through design challenges and hands-on work that build technical knowledge and interpersonal skills. We mentor the FIRST Lego League (FLL) teams in our town as well as FIRST Team 4557, participate at the town's 57 fest every year, inform kids ages 4-7 about robotics through March Madness at the elementary school, host and sp

onsor an off season event in October called Bash on the Beach to recruit new students and create awareness of heart disease by hosting a blood drive every year in our town.

State Champs was perfect! We went 11-0 and captained alliance 1 on the way to our second championship in three years with ! We were also rooting for the home team with on our alliance! Along with the team win, captain Eli Banks made the 2026 all-state team!

Last week we competed at the New England District Championship! On our field of 50 teams we ranked 5th captaining the 4th seeded alliance joined by our incredible alliance partners and !

While our official season came to an end, we’d like to wish all the New England teams traveling down to Houston good luck!

Sofia will be back in action May 17th at the Connecticut State Championship!

This past weekend we competed at the University of Rhode Island district event!

Through the ups and downs of competition we ended the qualification round rank 12 of 32 teams and were selected by to be on the 4th seeded alliance along with ! With the help of our incredible alliance partners we made it all the way to the finals, taking home a silver medal!

We also won the Quality Award and mentor Seth Crampton won the URI Outstanding Volunteer Award!

Thank you to the volunteers that made the event happen along with all of our sponsors. Sofia will be back in action this weekend in Hartford!

We are honored to announce Miles Viggiani as our 2026 season FIRST Leadership Award nominee!

In past seasons on 1699 Miles has helped with manufacturing, learned programming and scouted at competitions. This year Miles stepped up into a captain position and has been the driving force for our intake design, CAD and assembly! Miles has also been able to keep his grades high while maintaining perfect attendance to our meetings!

Miles’ hard work and dedication has been instrumental to the team and we wish him luck through the interview process!
