AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION ~ "Bruno"

This fun-loving, sweet-natured boy is ready to camp, hike, play soccer, or just chill and share snax with you around a campfire or on a cozy couch.

Bruno is approx 2 yrs old, friendly with everyone he meets. Has been gently introduced to other dogs successfully and he just wants to play. He may not take well to snarky obnoxious dogs coming in "hot" ....we dont allow that in our rescue, and advise against that with all dogs, for obvious reasons.

Has not been cat tested, but shows good temperament to tolerate new things calmly. Fostered at a home with horses and has shown no interest in chasing or bothering them.

The only thing that he gets excited about is playing soccer with unbridled joy.

Walks gently on leash after getting his initial wiggles out.

Neuter, distemper/parvo and rabies vax and microchip included in adoption fee.

Available within 100 miles of Spokane, WA or Portland, OR.

Fenced yard required for him to have a safe place to play.

If interested in Bruno, please contact us to sched a time to chat at 503.267.5505. Please text or leave us a message and we will get back to you quickly.

AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION - DUKE

With eyes that will melt your heart, Duke is a gorgeous 5 yr old shep cross boy who loves big and bonds deeply to his people. He is neutered and up to date on vaccines and approximately 55-60lbs, on the smaller side for a shepherd.

Duke is a joyful, fun guy who loves to romp & play with other balanced and playful dogs who have a non-reactive play style. He is spunky and curious and loves each day to the fullest while having a great "off switch" into calm mode.

Dukes ideal home would have a nice sized fenced yard, confident leaders who can provide structure and who love to take him adventuring on hikes, swimming, running errands and include him in their activities. He loves to snuggle on movie night and is an expert popcorn and milkshake taste tester.

Duke was attacked a couple years ago by a neighbor dog and it spooked him pretty good, putting him on guard. Duke has worked to get past the incident and get back his confidence so he can enjoy playing with other dogs but does rely on attentive support and discernment from his people regarding which dogs will be the right fit for success. A dog park is too much frenzy for Duke. He has a blast on his playdates and many dogs are a good match to be Dukes buddies, but a dog whos got a snarky approach that gets overly dominant when energy gets high isnt a good fit. Duke needs family members who know how to read the dynamic accurately and advocate fairly for him so he can be confident out and about. He looks to his leaders to guide the situation and appreciates and respects an attentive handler and has a heart to please and follow direction from them.

He would be most successful in an adult only home. Its not that he doesnt love kids, they just dont have the experience to help manage the consistency and predictability factor Duke craves, especially when kids have friends over and the fun times erupt. Thats a bit much for him to process and he gets confused. A calm young person who has good awareness around dogs would work just fine, as he very much loves an 11 yr old boy who grew up with him.

Duke rides nicely in the car, walks nicely on leash and has never been around cats. He would love having a brofur or sisfur to just hang out and do dog stuff with. He would also do well as an only dog with a family who spends a considerable amount of time at home and includes him often.

If interested in Duke, please reach out to set a time to chat by phone. Please text or leave us a message if we are unavailable. We will get back to you quickly. 503.267.5505

Help needed.

Hello Corgipalooza Supporters! We hope your summer is wrapping up nicely. ♡

"Melon" our latest intake is popping by to ask for our crew to help lend a paw in support of our mission. We could really use some help getting through an extremely difficult year for us where we have operated in the red far more often than is comfortable.

Its winter prep season here and we need help to accomplish necessary tasks to keep all the pups well cared for.

We have playyard prep including reroofing a couple dog houses, food & shavings stock up, some basic routine supplies as well as heating mats, heated buckets, etc. In addition, our pup cottage structure that houses several of our pups has $2000 in payments due very soon.

Every contribution helps us keep things running and the mission going. We appreciate you rallying when we reach out and try not to do it too often to become burdensome.

Thanks for considering, and a special "thanks" to those who have monthly donations that come in. The regularity of those is such a blessing!

And sweet girl, Melon will be coming available for adoption soon. So reach out if interested in a loving, smart, approx 9 mos old pyrenees/lab cross who will make the perfect family pup!

Sometimes (often actually) dog rescue lets you minister and lift up the people attached to these pups when they are in dark & difficult places. We try to speak life & support to people, not dole out judgement & shame.

When someone loses a precious relationship with their cherished pet because life threw them a curve ball they couldn't hit...we share reassurance that their pup has been lovingly & diligently placed so they can rest easy and focus on rebuilding from their challenges.

If we all close our hearts and shame people for making human missteps, we dont really empower them to do better, or to allow love to flow through them, as its blocked by lack of self worth.

Its not how Jesus rolled.
Its not how we choose to roll either.

Hoping that the young man in jail who we kept updated about the loving placement of his pyrenees finds comfort in seeing, in this pic from her ride to her new home that she is loved today by her new family.

And in exchange, he has agreed to connect with the chaplain we connected him to.

Hoping his sweet doggos journey is the bridge to a renewed commitment to beginning over, differently and toward the future her person deserves.

Because mistakes dont make people worthless.

Ask your dog...

A dogs purpose...

When we got a call on 113° summer day 2 summers ago, that there was a crate full of small puppies left in the sunshine that the local law enforcement werent willing to get involved with due to outstanding warrants against the person who had them...what do we do? We couldn't let them die. We were already over full. Way beyond max. No room for them. Shelters wouldn't take. So...we went to the ATM and pulled out funds we didnt have to negotiate these dogs away from the neglect caused from addiction and get them safe...
We built them their own playyard, gave them a kiddie pool, good food, room to romp & play and hope for a new life.

Of the 8....it took 1 year to get 2 placed. Another year...and the 3rd and 4th are finally placed.

And they are placed with purpose...and we are so proud of the work they are doing.

First placement Kayak, the water lover, is now the assistant coach and team mascot for a teen rowing program in Oregon. He goes to work and encourages young people every day to strive for greatness. He loves his "job" on the boat every day with his dad.

Cowboy, was just placed last week in a home who needed joy. A lovely young family who tragically lost their 16 month old baby boy to a rare genetic disorder.

The grief is insurmountable...and despite it, this family is seeking to find joy for their young boys where they can.

Cowboy is providing a loving scruff to cry into for the kids, and mom & dad. He intuitively knows when a calm and stable close cuddle is needed to remind them that they are going to make it through. And hes helping provide bursts of joy, as childhood should be, despite loss.

Cowboy and his Mamma will be training to become certified children's grief support volunteers in the children's hospital once she catches her breath. Together, they will honor the little life of their precious boy in heaven by loving on and providing comfort to those in fearful and difficult places.

This is rescue.
This makes it worth it.

Thanks for being a part of our team to support our efforts to make a loving impact through these little blessings called "dogs".

If youd like to support our work, please consider a contribution. Every bit helps.

Looking for an affordable, 4wd, reliable suv for our rescue that we can put $2500 down and pay off balance in installments over the next year or 18 mos. Ideally something like Honda Pilot or similar. We lost our volvo wagon to blown head gasket last week and last summer, lost our other Volvo suv to recalled engine that failed. Bad luck. Bad timing. Hoping to make lemonade out of lemons. We dont need fancy. Just reliable & reasonable. Maybe someone's relatives estate vehicle, etc?

Have references and will sign paperwork for payments.

I can be reached at 503.267.5505 to discuss.

Thanks for considering!
