Amanda's Light is a small Not for profit organization to help people in need in the immediate Southwest Virginia area. What inspired us to start this? I'll explain: The number one reason is the LORD. It's what he taught us to do. To help our brothers and sisters in their times of trouble. The 2nd reason, Amanda Bevins. She was a light to many. She had faith, hope, and love. She had faith in God; h
ope in people, and love her God and for people. Throughout battle with cancer she cared more for others than she did herself. She gave of herself to others in need when she was in need. She kept the faith in God that she WOULD be healed. I keep this poem that she wrote and decorated on my shelf as a reminder of what kind of person she was and what kind of person I aspire to be someday: "The Lord is my God, And my God is my shepherd. I shall always love and cherish." Out of the mind of child! Although she lost her battle to cancer in 1990; she did receive the ultimate healing. She got to be with the one and only God that she cherished and had so much faith in. Amanda, we love you and we are trying so much to carry on what you do to honor the Lord. Wait for us. We're working to reach our Savior and you!
