URGENT UPDATE: Help Us Re-Open Regular Emergency Food Orders for Cochran Families 🥫🛒
Last year, the City of Cochran provided crucial funding, followed early this year by a community grant from Walmart. Those generous funds allowed Cochran Helps to deliver direct, customized grocery packages to dozens of neighbors facing unexpected hardship right here in Bleckley County.
Today, our regular food program allocation is completely exhausted. While we have kept a tiny critical reserve strictly set aside for extreme life-or-death emergencies, our general food intake is now on hold.
We have multiple major grant applications actively under review to secure our next round of institutional funding. However, grant cycles take weeks to process—and local families need to eat today.
To reopen our food initiative immediately and begin taking on waiting clients, we are launching our $50 Emergency Food Sponsorship Drive:
• 100% Direct Impact: Every single $50 gift sponsors one full, customized $50 grocery package for an active client in our program. There is zero administrative overhead taken.
• Immediate Goal: Sponsoring 20 local families ($1,000) so we can lift the pause, restock pantries, and serve our neighbors without delay while we await grant decisions.
