Did you know you can support Cochran Helps on your birthday? 🎉

When Facebook notifies you asking if you’d like to create a birthday fundraiser, you can simply choose Cochran Helps as your nonprofit.

Instead of gifts this year, you can turn your birthday into something meaningful by helping local families right here in Bleckley County with food and support during difficult times ❤️

Every dollar raised goes directly back into serving our community.

If you’ve ever wanted an easy way to give back, this is a simple and powerful option.

Thank you for supporting your neighbors 💛

❤️ We Need Your Help: Shaping a New Senior Companionship Program!

Cochran Helps is currently developing a new program to support our local seniors, and we want to build it with your input!

Before we officially launch, we’re looking to see what the need is in our community and who might be interested in lending a hand. Our goal is to provide:

📞 Friendly check-in phone calls

☕ In-person company and conversation

🚗 Help with light errands or grocery runs

We want to hear from you!

Is there a need? Do you or someone you know (a neighbor, parent, or friend) need this kind of support?

Want to volunteer? Would you be willing to give a little of your time once the program starts?

We aren’t open for services just yet, but your feedback will help us get this off the ground correctly!

Thank you so much to everyone who has helped so far! We only have $187 left to reach our goal. The propane company requires a minimum delivery of 100 gallons, so we’re working to cover the full amount to keep her safely heated during this cold weather. Every share and donation truly helps.

🫶Community Update from Cochran Helps 🤍
We want to share a quick update with our community.
Cochran Helps is currently restructuring our programs so we can serve our neighbors in a more sustainable, effective, and long-term way. This process is about making sure what we offer is realistic, ethical, and truly helpful — not rushed or unstable.
For the time being, here is what we are offering:
🥫 Food Parcels
We are continuing to provide food parcels to eligible Bleckley County residents as supplies allow.
🔗 Resource Connections & Referrals
We are actively helping individuals and families connect to local, state, and community resources for food, utilities, healthcare, disability support, senior services, and other needs.
Some programs are temporarily paused while we reorganize, but this does not mean we are gone or stepping away. It means we are doing the behind-the-scenes work needed to come back stronger, clearer, and more accountable to the people we serve.
If you need support, please reach out.
If you’ve supported us — thank you. Your trust matters, and we’re committed to doing this the right way.
More updates coming soon. 🌱

💙 Why the Peyton Williams Center Matters 💙

If the City votes to allow Cochran Helps to use the Peyton Williams Center, it will open the door for long-term solutions, not just emergency assistance.

Having a dedicated space would allow us to offer programs like:
• Budgeting and financial literacy classes
• Life-skills workshops
• Resource navigation and referrals
• Supportive classes clients can attend in person

Our goal is not to create dependence on the kindness of the community. Our goal is to help people become stable, self-sufficient, and confident, so they don’t need emergency help in the future.

When people are given tools, education, and support, they can build a stronger future for themselves and their families—and that strengthens the entire Cochran community.

Thank you to everyone who believes in empowering people, not just getting them through today.
