I'm a Biker. To help you understand a few things.....

The two-car lengths we leave between the car in front of us isn't for you to cut us off. Contrary to popular belief, we cannot stop our bike on a dime.

When making a lane change, please use the little space/time imaging devices on your vehicle known as MIRRORS, and the blinky things called turn SIGNALS. It gives us time to react or yield. We strongly recommend utilizing those, and the neck the good Lord gave you, instead attempting to claim a position in the space we currently possess.

We speed up when passing your blind spot, not to race or intimidate you, but so you can see us.

Each highway lane for us is mentally divided by three. Some ride the right hand side, some the center, some the left. It's a comfort zone thing...but ALL THREE parts are ours.

When riding a two-way highway, ***I ride the left lane, in the left track (furthest away from you)*** and usually 5-10 mph over the speed limit. This way I only have to worry about vehicles on my right side, and I have time react when you crowd into my lane unannounced. Some will choose the right hand side, so they have some place to go when this happens.

Some of us ride with high-beams on at all times, so you can see us day or night! (I certainly do! Naturally, the smaller the bike, the less likely you are too see me.)

PLEASE put your phone down and stop texting, because the life you save may be mine, but it could just as easily be yours, or the people riding with you. (If we crash, it's going to cause others to react, and who knows how many people you could take out on two- or three-lane highway going 70mph. Haven't we all seen crazy videos of crashes?)

If you think our exhaust pipes are too loud, ask yourself if you saw us first, or heard us first?

So please watch out for me, and all my Biker Brothers and Sisters. Everyone of us are someone’s husband, wife, son, daughter, uncle, aunt, brother, sister, nephew, niece, neighbour or friend.

IT DOESN'T MATTER who yields the right of way, but no one can expect us to if you don't signal your intent BEFORE you move into our lane. We'll do the same.

If we remember we share the road, we will all be alive to come home to our loved ones.

****If you're my biker friend, or a conscientious Cager (car driver) and agree, please feel free to share, or copy and paste!***

Love to get the word out!!
