Here's your final reminder! Be at Veterans Park on Sunset on Monday May 25 just before 7:00 AM to help raise the huge garrison flag. Return to the park by 7 PM and be part of the team that will lower and fold the flag. This is a unique opportunity and it is a great way to honor those who have served and helped to preserve our country over the past 250 years. Everyone is welcom.

Memorial Day is a time when we honor the men and women who fought for and gave their lives in service to our nation. For 250 years, Americans have defended the principles of freedom upon which our country was founded. Assisting with the raising of the garrison flag in our community park is a visible way for all of us to show respect, remembrance, and gratitude for those sacrifices and to reaffirm our shared commitment to those enduring ideals. We are posting to remind you that on Monday at 7 AM and 7 PM your help is needed. Please join with Veterans and other members of the community to raise and lower our huge garrison flag. Set it up on your calendar and be there.

🥗 National Salad Month continues with this week's recipe: Tomato-Cilantro-Jalapeno Dressing on Spring Greens.
(Recipe by Ann Bercher; Good Day! Magazine V10I1, April 2026)

There’s something satisfying about making a meal from what you’ve grown yourself.

Even a small garden can go a long way, and this time of year is when it really starts to show. A handful of fresh ingredients can turn into something simple and good without much effort.

This week’s recipe fits right into that idea. It’s seasonal, straightforward, and easy to pull together. What do you have growing right now?

Something that impacts lots of communities like ours.

Something that impacts lots of communities like ours.

This morning, the National Grange launched a new report, "The 340B Program Impact on Rural Hospitals," which reveals stark disparities between rural and non-rural hospitals and raises concerns about policy and structural challenges that threaten the stability of rural healthcare systems.
We urge policymakers to make 340B reforms that ensure discounted drug savings while protecting program eligibility to true rural hospitals and rural demographics.

We are sharing this information, get the word out, and do our part. Yes the Garrison Flag will be posted on Monday morning. Yes, it is really large. Yes, your help is needed not only to raise it to also lower and fold it. Why? Memorial Day is a time when we honor the men and women who fought for and gave their lives in service to our nation. For 250 years, Americans have defended the principles of freedom upon which our country was founded. Assisting with the raising of the garrison flag in Veteran's Park is a visible way for all of us to show respect, remembrance, and gratitude for those sacrifices and to reaffirm our shared commitment to those enduring ideals. Hoping to see you there. Put the date and times on your calendar and schedule a reminder!
