This is the undeniably gorgeous Lester. He’s an English Setter, a hunting dog typically used for birds. He has a strong prey drive, which is important. Lester probably won’t do well around smaller animals. He was bred to hunt them, and those instincts are inborn and automatic. So, if you have chickens or hamsters or want to turn him loose around a bunch of animals he doesn’t know, please keep scrolling. There are so many dogs that are perfect for you, but not Lester.

He’s never been taught to hunt, but he still tries to. Because that’s what he was born to do. Perhaps his adopter will teach him to hunt for real. If not, Lester can still be a great family dog…as long as his instincts are understood. He’s very sweet, smart and affectionate. Loves everybody and tries hard. Lester is 3 years old and weighs 55 pounds. He’s ready to love and be loved for all of his days. But please don’t ask him to babysit the guinea pigs or the cockatiel or anything like that. Because a hunting dog is gonna hunt.
