Motor City Chorale

The Motor City Chorale is a strategically planned & guided 501c3 organization that fosters, develops and shares a passion for choral music!

Motor City Chorale (formerly General Motors Chorus) has been performing and entertaining audiences in the Metro Detroit area for more than 87 years! It was organized in 1933 as one of the earliest employee activities within General Motors, but has been self-supporting since 1978. Less than one-half of the members are employed by, retired from, or spouses of GM employees. The rest of the membership

is comprised of singers from many other communities in the Metro Detroit area. The primary purpose of Motor City Chorale is to bring joy to its audiences... each year the chorus gives 20 to 25 concerts in churches, senior centers, and other venues. Motor City Chorale has performed with Grammy-winning vocalist Judy Collins in 1995 and 1999, and has also performed with the Southfield, Redford, Warren and Lake St. Clair symphonies, and the Warren Concert Band. The chorus has also sung for many civic, industrial and community groups throughout the years. Motor City Chorale is a non-profit organization, and receives its operating funds from donations, member dues and free-will offerings from audiences.

NO REHEARSAL TONIGHT!
We have been informed that due to the weather conditions, Van D**e Public Schools are closed, which means we will not have access to Lincoln High School tonight for our rehearsal.
We will extend the invitation to new members one more week because of the closing.

Another wonderful Christmas season, concluding with our final concert of the season at our director, Eric Miller's church. St. Paul's Lutheran was packed for this lovely event, with a very large and very appreciative audience! Thank you all for making this season so special! Happy New Year! We look forward to seeing you all in the spring!

We had a wonderful first rehearsal last night with the Motor City Chorale. Sixty-five singers showed up! We still have room for more, and we accept new members for the next two weeks. Come and give it a try. We have a lot of fun singing, and the people are great! Next Monday, 6:45 pm in the Lincoln HS choir room Can’t wait to see you!

Christmas is coming!
Our first rehearsal is Monday September 8th. We meet at Lincoln High School. Rehearsal are every Monday and concert schedules will soon be available. Auditions are not required, and no previous experience is needed. We are always looking for energetic new members!

It's that time!! We want to welcome everyone back for the New Year! Beautiful sounds come out of this room and we are ready for spring! We welcome anyone that would like to join us, practices are held at Lincoln High School on Monday nights at 6:45pm.
