One week ago, young women from across New Jersey gathered for the 2026 Teen Summit—and we are still reflecting on the power of that day.

Through honest conversations, leadership development, college readiness discussions, and meaningful connections, participants explored what it means to advocate for themselves, protect their peace, and lead with confidence.

What stood out most? The voices of the girls themselves.

✨ “No is a complete sentence.”
✨ “It’s okay to say no.”
✨ “Protect your peace.”
✨ “Girls need sisterhood.”

These were just a few of the lessons participants shared after the summit.

100% of attendees expressed interest in learning more about Leading Young Women and 97% said they would recommend the experience to a friend.

To every young woman who joined us, every speaker who shared their story, every volunteer who gave their time, and every supporter who believes in the power of girls—we thank you.

The summit may be over, but the work continues.

Because when girls are given the tools, support, and space to thrive, they become powerful leaders in their schools, communities, and beyond.

What a day. 💜

On Friday, Leading Young Women proudly hosted the inaugural Leading the Garden State: New Jersey Girls Leadership Summit, bringing together girls, educators, advocates, community leaders, nonprofit organizations, higher education partners, parents, and mentors from across New Jersey.

Together, we explored some of the most important issues impacting girls today, including leadership, mental health, belonging, mentorship, safety, healing, future readiness, and opportunity.

Throughout the day, we witnessed meaningful conversations, powerful storytelling, new connections, and a shared commitment to ensuring that girls have the support they need to thrive.

We are incredibly grateful to our keynote speaker, Dr. Monique Couvson, our panelists, presenters, sponsors, vendors, volunteers, partners, and attendees who helped make this inaugural event a success.

Most importantly, we thank the girls whose voices, experiences, dreams, and leadership remain at the center of everything we do.

This summit was more than an event—it was a reminder of what is possible when a community comes together to invest in girls.
