A haunted house, but you ran out of diapers and you have to choose between that or dinner. 🎃

Diaper insecurity is scary.

According to the national Diaper Bank, 1-in-3 families in Southwest Virginia experienced diaper need and roughly 1-in-4 parents have skipped meals in order to afford diapers instead.

Your donation and support of our mission help close that gap in the Alleghany Highlands.

We have distributed over 7,000 diapers since January 2026! Each month, the number of families served grows, so thank you for helping us do more. 🧡

NEW MATERNITY CLOSET HOURS!

With school in session and in response to some feedback from families, we will be open Mondays from 4-5pm.

We hope that allows more wiggle room for those needing to come by after work.

Beginning October 19th, we will see you Monday evenings! 🧡

Erin Wheeler | Rural Legends Speaker

Join us on November 13th at 7pm at Historic Masonic Theatre hear five rural birth stories. Erin will be telling her story about bringing her daughter into the world on the side of I-64.

Free admission and refreshments. The event is co-hosted by the Virginia Department of Health and Roanoke College Front Porch Health podcast.

We are still looking for one to two additional women to share their birth, lactation, or rural motherhood story. Our event is to showcase what maternal health and motherhood looks like in rural areas, and why improving maternal health outcomes for rural areas is critical.

If you are interested, please send us a message! And if you know someone with a good story, please send this to them as well.

Thank you so much to the mom who donated! They donated 6,534g of formula, which makes about 760 2oz bottles 💙

If you have a need, our maternity closet is open from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Tuesdays. How does it work? You just come in and take what you need 💙 no paperwork, income verification, or application!

Have a donation? You can drop it off during our open hour on Tuesday, or drop off at Four Moons Designs during their open hours! (A big thank you to them for being a drop off location)

Our maternity closet is donation based, so families like you help us reach more expecting moms and kids in need!

Thankful for a bath supply donation! 🩷

In addition to diapers and wipes, we are often in need of soap, lotion, diaper cream, and ni**le cream. We also accept unopened sleeves of diapers! If you opened the box but have unopened sleeves remaining, we can accept those.

This month, we distributed 863 diapers to local families.
