While high schools throughout the country are celebrating their graduates so, too, is the Buckeye United School District of the Ohio Department of Youth Services. Consider for a moment the extraordinary challenges these youth face and you might better appreciate their accomplishment of graduation. Early in June the youth of Power of Harmony will perform at graduation ceremonies at all 3 of the juvenile correctional facilities in the state. Let's celebrate these wonderful achievements!

Find Your Light Foundation reaches far beyond the obvious and needy to the creative programming that lifts the lives of those who might not ever have the opportunity to experience the power of music. Kudos to Josh Groban, his family and the FYLF.

We want so much to impart knowledge, guidance and direction for the young men we work with in youth prisons. Frankly, we can fall short and maybe never really give them that 'gem' that might spark them to understand just how important and valuable music can be in their 'Second Chance". Then along comes someone with crazy talent and wisdom beyond his years to deliver this keynote address at Berklee College of Music. Do yourself a favor and watch this. it's only a little over 6 minutes long. I plan to share it with our youth.

Sometimes it's the unsolicited, casual affirmation that brings the broadest smile to our faces. The youth sign in as they arrive for Power of Harmony classes each week. On Tuesday, one of the young men at IDOC Pendleton Juvenile Correctional Facility in Indiana scribbled his thoughts on the bottom of the sign in sheet. Yes! We LOVE that YOU love Power of Harmony!

Tonight the youth of Cuyahoga Hills Juvenile Correctional Facility were treated to a concert by Renovare Music. Proud that the Power of Harmony Foundation was able to bring this talented group to our young men!

It's always great to be greeted by enthusiastic, energetic students when we hold a Power of Harmony vocal music class! The young men at Indian River Juvenile Correctional Facility were that - and more! They sang well and had a great time. Maurice F. Martin was on his game and lead a successful session! Fun for all!!

Power of Harmony is about anti-recidivism - keeping our youth out of prison and leading positive, productive lives as returned citizens. Music is our instrument. Our goal is happy, healthy youth who NEED and DESERVE a second chance to take a better, smarter path. The month of April is Second Chance Month. Please raise up our youth in prayer that their second chance is productive and rewarding.

Our latest t-shirt order arrived today and I can't WAIT to get them to our youth in the various juvenile prisons we serve with Power of Harmony. These are special because they were printed by Creative Ink Printing, True Freedom Ministries' accredited apprenticeship program at Grafton Reintegration Center. Special thanks to my dear friend Mike Swiger and his crew at TFM. We have some upcoming performances at some of the youth facilities and the guys are going to look GREAT in their new shirts!
