Over the weekend, we had some unexpected guests arrive unannounced at our fire station.

Thankfully with the assistance of a local beekeeper, we were able to get this bee colony safely relocated to a new home!

This week 3 new firefighters began their careers with us! Welcome aboard!

This morning a few of our members participated in the American Lung Association’s Fight For Air Climb at Key Tower in Cleveland.

They climbed 54 flights in full firefighter gear in support of lung health awareness and research.

An important message from our police department

The Richmond Heights Police Department is aware that the name of an ICE agent involved in a recent shooting incident in Minneapolis was publicly released and that the individual was identified as Jonathan Ross. Since that release, our department has received multiple harassing phone calls and social media messages directed at the Richmond Heights Police Department and referencing that incident.

We want to clearly state that Sergeant Jonathan Ross of the Richmond Heights Police Department is not associated with this incident in any way. Sergeant Ross has been employed by the Richmond Heights Police Department since 2013 and does not currently work for, nor has he ever worked for, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

The Richmond Heights Police Department urges the public to avoid spreading misinformation and to recognize that individuals may share the same name without any connection. Harassment or threats directed toward our personnel based on inaccurate or misleading information are unacceptable and will be addressed accordingly.

2025 was another record breaking year for our organization. We responded to 3,078 total calls. This is an increase of 12.13% from 2024 (2745 calls)

Great things are happening in our city and at our department. We look forward to continued growth in 2026.
