Big news: We’re one (bargaining unit, that is)!

We’re ecstatic to share Signal Ohio’s leadership chose to voluntarily recognize us as one Signal, one union.

We appreciate our board hearing our message about the strength of the SONWG. We look forward to continuing to work with them on our shared mission of providing all Ohioans with free, high-quality journalism.

And an extra special thanks to our supporters! You really showed up for us over the past month - we are so thankful for all of your emails, donations, shares, and kind messages. We won’t let you down. Onward we go! 💛

This week, Signal Ohio launched a fundraising campaign to help secure our future. We know it's tempting, in light of our strong stance against our leadership’s treatment of our union, to withhold donations in protest.

The Signal Ohio News Workers Guild is asking you not to do that.

What we would like you to do instead is ensure that anything you choose to donate ends in $1. Give $11 instead of $10, give $51 instead of $50.

We want the $1 at the end of each donation to signify the belief that we are all one union. We hope that seeing that string of $1s as donations come in will further underline the community support our union has - and the fact that we want to improve Signal Ohio, not tear it down.

And if there's space for you to do it, please put in a comment encouraging our leaders to recognize our one union. Thank you for your continued support.
