The Collinwood Painted Rain Barrel Project Collinwood is known for Lake Erie Shore access. We celebrate our regional artists creating beauty & water conservation in 55 Gallon Rain Barrel painting.

Water Conservation Just Got Fun! Lake Erie, regionally, is well known for water quality & conservation, since the Cuyahoga River burning days sparked the creation of the EPA, and Our shores have been drastically improved. This project celebrates these efforts by bringing the Arts in to improve the big chunk of plastic that is a standard food grade barrel, used to create organic compatible rain bar

rels for vegetable gardens. This workshop will help beautify resident’s landscapes by guiding them to paint their rain barrels and offer kids crafts creating artwork from reclaimed unrecyclable plastics. Stormwater is useful for our gardens but also prevents trash and waste from entering the storm drains, adding to combined sewer overflows, polluting out fresh waterways. Residents gain use of free, chlorine and flouride free rainwater for garden use.
