Broadview Heights Lions Club The Broadview Heights Lions Club has been committed to serving our community for over 50 years! ACCEPTING NEW MEMBERS

The Club was started in 1975 with 25 members. For the past ten years our membership has ranged from 60 to 85 members. Our members range in age from their mid 20's to over 80, and we are extremely diverse. There are pipe fitters, salesmen, accountants, engineers, plumbers, city employees, teachers, carpenters, managers, and most any other profession you might name. This diversity provides a wealth

of knowledge which is invaluable in planning and carrying out our projects. Of equal importance, many of us have developed lifelong friendships. During our 37 year history we have been among the most active Lions Club in Ohio. We have received numerous awards and honors from both the Community and various Lions organizations. In every area of service to our Community, nation, and the world, this Lions Club fulfills the motto of the International Association of Lions' Clubs: WE SERVE! Although we support the District, State and International projects, most of our work and our funds are directed to our local community.

CLEVELAND SCRAPPERS Vs. Babes of 1916

The Cleveland Scrappers and the Greater Cleveland Beepball League have, for 40 years, enabled blind and visually impaired athletes the opportunity to engage in a competitive sport where we work as a team. Just because a person has a disability does not mean the game is over. You find a new way to play it. We want to show you those ways. Come out to watch a fun game and an adapted version of baseball for those who are blind and sight-challenged.

Congratulations to our CLEVELAND SCRAPPERS Beep Baseball Team. We are so honored to be a proud sponsor of your team.

The Cleveland Scrappers and the Greater Cleveland Beepball League for 40 years enabled blind and visually impaired athletes the opportunity to engage in a competitive sport where they work as a team. Prior to playing beep baseball, many of our players had never had the opportunity to play team sports where they are a factor and not a passive participant. We aim to provide opportunity and to change perceptions of what people who are blind and visually impaired can contribute.

This is our annual exhibition game with the Babes of 1916 senior softball league. This game is always a blast. It’s a local chance to see the Scrappers on the Playing field. We will be at Solon Community Park on Field #5 for our game on the 23rd from 2-4 pm . you will want to bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on because there are no benches or bleachers at this field. Because of all the construction, the regular parking lot off of SOM Center Rd. near Field #4 is closed. There is parking adjacent to Field #5 off of Portz Pkwy which is the intersection just north of the regular parking lot. It is on the same road as the Library, about 200 yards east of the library on the opposite side.

Today, on International Youth Day, let’s celebrate the energy, ideas, commitment and power of young people to make a difference around the world.

Within Lions International, young people are not only the leaders of tomorrow: they are already essential changemakers today.

Through Leos, young Lions and all those who choose to serve their communities, a new generation is showing us every day that service has no age.

It is up to us to trust them, give them opportunities to lead, listen to their ideas and, most importantly… serve alongside them. Because when generations bring together their experience, talents and energy, our impact becomes even stronger. 💙💛
