Congratulations to the 2025 graduates from the Howley ASPIRE Nurse Scholars program at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania!
During the final Senior Enrichment Session before graduation, students shared their exciting next steps and celebrated this milestone together with a special group photo on the hospital helipad.
We are so proud of all they have accomplished and can’t wait to see the impact they will make in the future of healthcare.

We’re proud to celebrate two of our Howley Scholars from Saint Ignatius High School!

Aris Soto ’27 has been honored with a musical apprenticeship through the Dazzle Awards at Playhouse Square and will perform alongside professional musicians at the Dazzle Awards ceremony on May 16.

Nathaniel Santiago ’26 earned First Prize in this year’s La Maison Française de Cleveland competition, where students deliver a 5–10 minute oral presentation in French, speaking extemporaneously about their experiences and a topic related to Francophone culture.

With a $3.1M commitment to "The School That Works, Forever" campaign, we’re proud to support Cristo Rey Philadelphia’s Certification Program and the creation of the Howley Certification Center!

The program launched this school year and is already giving students hands-on experience that goes beyond the classroom. Freshmen are working toward Microsoft Office certifications, sophomores toward Excel, and upperclassmen are beginning Project Management and career-track pathways, with AI certifications coming this spring.

Through team-based capstone projects, students build full project plans, including timelines, budgets, and stakeholder analysis, and present their ideas to faculty and staff. Over time, every student will graduate with at least three certifications, strengthening both their college and career readiness and the contributions they can make in their work-study roles today.

We’re grateful to support Cristo Rey Philadelphia in building something that connects the classroom to real-world opportunity!

A Howley Scholar making headlines and saving a life!
Mahogany Milton, a sophomore Howley Scholar at Elyria Catholic High School, is featured in People Magazine after her quick thinking helped save her mother’s life. When her mom suffered cardiac arrest, Mahogany immediately called 911 and began performing CPR, actions that ultimately helped keep her alive until medical help arrived.
We are incredibly proud of Mahogany’s courage and presence of mind in such a critical moment. Read the full story below.

A mother in Ohio survived a near-deadly heart attack thanks to her teenage daughter’s quick thinking. B’Lon, 42, came home from work on a seemingly typical day on March 25, 2025, then collapsed. Her daughter, Mahogany, now 15, snapped into action.

Kicking off our 2026 school visits, Andy Howley and Meg Howley spent time at Xavier High School connecting with our Howley Scholars. Xavier’s balanced, college-preparatory approach came through in conversations with students who shared what drives them and what they’re working toward next. Once again, the best insights come straight from the students themselves!

As we close out our 2025 school visits, here’s a look at The Howley Foundation Board Members Beth Krieger and Paul Krieger spending time with our Howley Scholars at Saint Mary’s School. We’re incredibly grateful for these visits and for our partner schools that make space for connection and help make this work possible!

We’re proud to celebrate Ka’Mara Stewart ’26, a Howley Scholar at Saint Martin de Porres High School, who has been awarded the prestigious, merit-based Posse Scholarship. This full-tuition scholarship recognizes exceptional leadership and academic excellence and will support Ka’Mara as she attends Rhodes College this fall.

Ka’Mara becomes the second Howley Scholar from Saint Martin de Porres to earn this honor, joining Robert Whipple ’25, also a Howley Scholar and the school’s first-ever Posse Scholar. Her achievement reflects a strong commitment to leadership and balance, serving as a Student Ambassador, participating in the ASPIRE Nursing Program, staying active in drumline, and maintaining excellent academic performance.

Congratulations, Ka’Mara! We’re excited to see what’s ahead.
