Amari Knight is a sweet, lovable, & amazing young boy who was born on August 31, 2021. He was born healthy & happy with an amazing mom & sister by his side. Around his first birthday his mom noticed he was having a hard time breathing & took him to the hospital. From there they found out that not only did he have RSV, but he has stage 5 kidney failure, End Stage Renal Disease, & NPHP3. Everything drastically changed for their family.
Amari needs around the clock care, so his mom eventually had to leave her full-time job to become his fulltime care giver. Hospital stays have become the new normal for them. He has been through multiple surgeries along with living daily with a catheter, feeding tube & nightly dialysis. Thankfully they are surrounded by an amazing support system & he is such a strong boy. Amari loves playing with his toys. His favorite song is “My Girl” by the temptations. His favorite is his xylophone. He loves to learn & is very smart.
They are partnering with The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) to raise funds in honor of Amari Knight. 100% of the donations raised will be available for a lifetime and will assist with transplant-related expenses, such as treatment, surgeries, and travel back & forth to the hospital. The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) helps children and young adults who need a life-saving transplant by providing fundraising assistance and family support. COTA is the nation’s only fundraising organization solely dedicated to raising life-saving dollars in honor of transplant-needy children and young adults. 100% of each contribution made to COTA in honor of our patients helps meet transplant-related expenses. COTA’s services are free to our families, and gifts to COTA are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
