This week I sent a letter home about how and to whom we should be selling popcorn. I will have more sheets with me on Monday if anyone needs another. This week coming up we will get down to business and start breaking into Dens and preparing for our urban hike. I look forward to seeing everyone there!!

So meeting number 2 went pretty well! We are in the back prep room area of the cafeteria now, subject to change if they decide to move us again.

The popcorn flyers went home this week, although I hadn't planned on that until next meeting. I'll have a handout to go home for all the cubs explaining what's going on and we will go over the sale again on Monday.

To all my old scouts, you should find your uniform from last year and wear it to the meetings!! If anyone has outgrown their old uniform please let me know and we can arrange a trade in for it. New scouts I'm not sure how we are doing uniforms this year, so when I find out I'll let you know.

Lastly, CUB HAUNTED is coming up!! 😱 For three weekends in October ( the 12th, 19th, and 26th ) we will be at Camp Beaumont for all the fun outdoor activities that CMSD won't let us do at school. I'll post the link to the website soon. We don't have a specific day right now but if we do I'll let you know.

Welcome back everyone! And a warm welcome to everyone who is joining us. We've grown in size this year, which is really exciting. Mrs. Larissa and Mr. Dan are working with me this year and I am looking forward to our adventures.

The first thing we need to do is the ever so boring paperwork and earning our BOBCAT award. (That is learning the basics for getting our meetings going)

This year we will begin our meetings in the gym because they are dismissing students from Mrs. Fong's room, but we will move there once everyone is gone.

We went on our urban hike this week. We took ourselves around the block, the weather was pretty good, and we enjoyed being outside. Talked about the leaves and trees, squirrels and other such things. No school this Monday so we won't meet until the 19th when we'll start the next unit of games (for the Tigers / Wolves) and tools (for the Bears / Webelos)

This week was proper clothing choices, although most people who showed up to Cub Haunted were VERY properly prepared for the weather! (lots of spare clothes and layers) After that we did indoor smores. I just love watching chocolate graham cracker crusted marshmallows evaporate!! This week coming up will be animals/plants we might see on our urban hike for the Tigers and Wolves. Bears and Webelos will be assembling a tent for us.

Thanks to everyone who showed up Saturday! Fishing was the only time we all got together but it was great. Thanks to Daniel for all his help with the rods, reels, and casts.

Our fishing award goes to Mariah who caught the biggest catch of the day!!!

So Monday we went over the 6 essentials for hiking (water, snack, flashlight, sun screen, whistle, and a first aid kit) and played a crazy game of Kangaroo stomp. Next week we'll go over dressing for the weather and planning our route for our urban hike. (around the block at school) Look forward to seeing anyone who is coming to Cub Haunted Saturday!
