Uptown Cruise 2019🚨🚨🚨BIG Announcement🏎💨
Each year, The Uptown Cruise kicks off with the burnout contest on the west side of Arlington Park. And each year, the Mayberry Foundation picks someone to honor with the ceremonial first burnout.
On June 1, 2019, we will celebrate the memory of Brian Varnell. Brian was a lover of cars, drag racing and speed — and the Uptown Cruise quickly became one of his favorite events. The loss of Brian was a hard thing for many in our community and in the racing community. On Saturday, his dear friend Jimmy Long will take the wheel of Brian’s beloved S-10 and burn off some smoke in his honor, opening the competition.
Also, some incredible vehicles that contest sponsor Hot Rod Garage has built or restored will be on display at Arlington Park — including the 1947 Ford that HRG and Brian’s family put many hours into.
We are grateful to Brian’s wife — his sweetheart Debbie Gray Varnell — for giving her blessing for us to rev things up and remember Brian in a way that would make him proud!
See you June 1, 2019 for Cleveland, OK’s biggest street party, where the cruisers drag the main strip for hours!

🚨Our yearly reminder: The burnout contest is a sanctioned event with entry fees going to the charity hosting the night — The Mayberry Foundation. The city has allowed us to provide a safe, secure place for you to burnout in fun (with a captive audience!) But aside from the contest, you must follow road rules around town during the event. This keeps the thousands of attendees safe! ❤️
