What happens before the slides? The strongest presentations usually start long before anyone opens PowerPoint. Structure, pacing, storytelling, and clarity are what make presentations memorable — not just the visuals.

This Thursday, May 21 at 12.00 pm ET, at the Presentation Guild, our members-only No Slides Allowed session with Glenn Gibson focuses on:

• Meaningful introductions
• Memorable presentation bodies
• Motivational conclusions

A repeatable structure for every presentation.

Whether you present yourself or help others shape presentations, having practical storytelling and structure techniques can help create clearer, more engaging, and more impactful presentations.

No Slides Allowed is one of the many expert-led learning series included with Presentation Guild membership — alongside 40+ events this year, hands-on labs, think tanks, and unlimited access to recordings.

If you work with presentations professionally, this is the kind of conversation you want access to.

Canva continues to evolve into a powerful platform for presentation design, visual storytelling, training materials, and data visualization workflows — which is why love our quarterly Canva Lab series at the Presentation Guild.

At our second Canva Lab 2026 on Thursday, we’re diving into:
𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝘃𝗮 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 & 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴

We’re excited to welcome James Clements from Canva, joining our Canva Lab host Kim Bruschi of STORIED Visual Communications Studio, to share:

• Fast and easy data visualizations in Canva
• Smart presentation-building workflows
• Canva tips, best practices, and live Q&A

Our Canva Labs are part of the Presentation Guild’s growing lineup of members-only hands-on learning events for presentation professionals and visual communicators looking to sharpen their workflows and stay current with evolving presentation tools.

The business of presentation work is changing.

In our latest Presentation Guild Business Talk earlier this year, members shared what they’re seeing in real time—less predictable work, clients experimenting with AI, and a growing need to clearly define where they add value.

A consistent takeaway: it’s no longer just about creating slides, but about bringing expertise, direction, and confidence to the work behind them.

Our second members-only Business Talk is coming up tomorrow, Thursday April 23 at 12.00 pm. What new insights will emerge from tomorrow’s conversation?

Our Business Talks are hosted by Nolan Haims, Presentation and Data Storytelling Training and Kirk Patel.

“Nobody knows what I do.”

If you work in-house as a presentation professional, you’ve probably said—or at least thought—this more than once. You’re shaping stories, influencing decisions, and elevating how organizations communicate…

And yet, you’re often pulled in at the last minute, seen as ex*****on support, or evaluated against expectations that don’t reflect the actual impact of your work.

That’s not a visibility problem.
That’s a positioning problem.

So how do you change it?

How do you move from “make it look good” to strategic partner?
How do you get a seat at the table earlier?
How do you grow in a role that isn’t clearly defined—and often undervalued?

This is exactly what we’re digging into in our next In-house Insights session (April 2, 12 PM ET) with Monday Lynn, CPE™—and it’s a conversation that comes up again and again across our community.

Because this isn’t just one event. It’s a pattern.

Inside the Presentation Guild, these are the kinds of conversations happening all year long—across 40+ events and an on-demand library you can tap into anytime.

Not polished answers.
Not generic advice.
But real, shared experience from people navigating the same challenges.
Because if no one quite understands the role yet... we don’t wait for that to change—we shape it.

Continuous learning isn’t optional for presentation professionals — even (and especially) for those with years of experience. Our tools, workflows, and audience expectations are evolving fast: new features, new collaboration models, new ways of designing, animating, and even personalizing presentations. Staying effective means refining our craft, questioning habits that no longer serve us, and learning smarter ways of working.

As part of our ongoing effort to surface high-quality learning experiences for presentation professionals, we’re pleased to partner with CreativePro on their upcoming Presentation Design Conference, taking place online NEXT WEEK February 17–20.

This amazing, online, how-to event is designed for anyone who need to create compelling slide decks, interactive experiences, and impactful presentations.

Registration includes up to four days of educational sessions, live speaker Q&A, networking, speaker handouts and downloadable resources, and on-demand access to rewatch session recordings for a full year, so you can absorb the knowledge at your own pace.

As a follower of Presentation Guild - you can save $100 off registration with promo code: PRESGUILD

Ready to claim your PowerPoint proficiency?

When tools evolve faster than job titles, proven skill matters. Claiming your PowerPoint proficiency helps you demonstrate intentional expertise, reinforce professional standards, and advocate for the value you bring—without needing to justify it.

Our first certification preparatory bootcamp runs February 9–13 and is designed to help professionals prepare for the Certified Presentation Specialist (CPS™) Exam – Level 1. While bootcamps are optional, many participants use them to sharpen skills, close gaps, and build confidence ahead of certification.

The exam is included in the bootcamp registration fee, and Presentation Guild members receive 25% off bootcamps and exams—making this a strong opportunity to invest in your professional growth early in the year.

The bootcamps are taught by Echo Swinford, Microsoft MVP, Owner of Echosvoice, co-author of the book Building Presentation Templates.

More details on what to expect from a preparatory certification exam bootcamp is available on the Presentation Guild website: https://presentationguild.org/products/bootcamp-exam-cps

If you work inside an organization, you know that presentation work comes with its own unique realities — supporting leadership, maintaining brand consistency, collaborating with non-designers, and delivering under constant time pressure.

These are the realities of in-house presentation work—and many presentation professionals are navigating them largely on their own, without a space to openly talk about them.

That’s why we host In-House Insights — a quarterly discussion-driven think tank created specifically for our members working inside organizations. It’s a space for honest conversation, shared experiences, and learning from peers who understand the pressures and tradeoffs that come with internal roles.

Each session is facilitated by Monday Lynn, CPE™, Senior Presentation Designer at Adecco, and centers on real-world challenges, thoughtful prompts, and open dialogue. Some people jump in. Some listen and take notes. Both are welcome.

And - in between sessions the discussions continue in our dedicated In-House Insights Slack channel.

Our next In-House Insights is coming up this Thursday, February 5 | 12:00 pm ET.

This session is part of our member programming — and one of many ways Presentation Guild members learn from each other throughout the year.

Ready to formalize your PowerPoint expertise?

In a world where presentation tools are faster and more accessible than ever, the real differentiator is not access to PowerPoint—but mastery of it. Even if you use PowerPoint every day, having your skills formally recognized helps you advocate for your expertise—without having to explain or defend it.

If you’re interested in strengthening your PowerPoint proficiency in a more structured way, we have our first Certification Bootcamp designed to help professionals prepare for taking the Certified Presentation Specialist Exam (Level 1) coming up February 9-13.

This is your chance to start out 2026 with an expertise bang!

You can take a Certified Presentation Specialist Exam without taking a bootcamp — but many participants find them valuable for sharpening skills, filling gaps, and gaining confidence before certification. The certification exam is included as part of the bootcamp experience and if you are a member of the Presentation Guild you get 25% off bootcamps (and exams!).

The bootcamps are taught by Echo Swinford, Microsoft MVP, Owner of Echosvoice, co-author of the book Building Presentation Templates.

More details on what to expect from a preparatory certification exam bootcamp is available on the Presentation Guild website: https://presentationguild.org/products/bootcamp-exam-cps/
