NCFF had a great first club meeting to kick off the Fall at Lake Metropark’s Penitentiary Glen Reservation. NCFF Member, Paul Grubach, gave a very informative presentation on the “Ecology of Fly Fishing”, where he touched on the science of fish study, aquatic ecology, conservation, and more. The idea was to show us how we can apply these studies to help make us all better at the sport of fly fishing. Thank you Paul!

Looking forward to next month’s meeting at Orvis Cleveland (Woodmere) where fishing manager, CJ Pellegrini will be presenting. Can’t wait for this one!

Thank you to Orvis Clevelandfor hosting such a classy happy hour event on Thursday…as we took in the FF Trout Tour film (presented by Orvis & Scientific Angler). We had the entire store to shop, watch fly tying demos by NCFF’s Rich Oglio and Phil Varketta, have a cold beer, and converse with friends old and new!

NCFF is also grateful - Orvis Cleveland donated proceeds from their prize raffle to NCFF to assist with our commitment to providing education on the best practices and techniques in the sport of fly fishing - including tying, casting and conservation of our local fisheries. Thank you Orvis Cleveland!
