CCBC is proud to help patients in need by providing cord blood units for transplant in every responsible way we can.

During the first week of March, CCBC supported two important shipments of cord blood to Gamida for the manufacture of the BLA-approved cell therapy product Omisirge. A big show of respect to the Gamida team for keeping critical work moving forward while navigating ongoing regional challenges.

A giant THANK YOU to the NMDP team for finding creative, collaborative ways to deliver these units despite significant logistical hurdles, including airspace closures across the Middle East.

Moments like this are a reminder that collaboration matters—together we’re stronger and able to reach patients who are counting on all of us.

Happy World Cord Blood Day 2025!

The Cleveland Cord Blood Center is celebrating World Cord Blood Day in the best way possible—by shipping an HPC, Cord Blood Unit for clinical transplant!

Two of CCBC’s outstanding laboratory professionals, Miranda and Matt, prepared and loaded the dry shipper with this life-saving product. The unit is now on its way to the transplant center, where it will be infused into a patient awaiting a stem cell transplant.

These life-changing transplants are made possible thanks to our incredible cord blood donors, dedicated collection site staff, skilled laboratory professionals, and diligent quality team.

The Cleveland Cord Blood Center is celebrating it's San Leandro cord blood collection site! Earlier this year, two cord blood units, that were collected by Alisha Scott CNM, and Elizabeth Edwards, CNM, were shipped for clinical transplant to help two patient’s in need. We applaud their collection efforts, as well as the wonderful donors who selflessly donate their cord blood to be used as a treatment for those with blood disorders.
