We are so excited for another season of Sports for Christ Flag Football at Cleveland First Baptist Church! This ministry is about so much more than football. Every practice, game night, devotion, and conversation is an opportunity to share the love of Jesus with kids and families in our community.

📅 Practices and games played on Tuesdays & Thursdays

The wait is over… the 2026 Sports for Christ Flag Football schedule is HERE!

We are excited to officially announce our 2026 season schedule for upcoming 1st–6th graders! From player evaluations to opening kickoff, we cannot wait for another season of competition, growth, friendships, and learning what it means to play for something bigger than ourselves.

📣 Registration opens later this week! Stay tuned for more details and how to sign up!

🏈 Practices and games will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the season.

Sports for Christ isn’t just about touchdowns and victories; it’s about so much more. It’s about teamwork, sportsmanship, and character development—all rooted in Christian values.

This Good Friday, we pause and remember the sacrifice that changed everything. ✝️

At Sports for Christ, our mission has always been bigger than the game. It’s about pointing kids and families to Jesus. Last season, we had the opportunity to share the Gospel right in the middle of our fields, reminding our athletes that they are deeply loved by a Savior who gave His life for them.

And the story doesn’t end at the cross… Sunday is coming. 🙌

🌅 Sunrise Service at 6:15 AM | The Brotherhood will serve breakfast after the service.

🥚 Easter Egg Hunt for Children at 9 AM | The children will meet for Sunday School and end with an Easter Egg Hunt divided by age. Please send a basket with your children for hunting eggs.

What a night! Sports for Christ represented big at the Blount County Christmas Parade! So grateful for these awesome players, our families, and a community that shines bright! 🎄🏈

Hey everyone! Just wanted to share our plan for tonight’s Blount County Christmas Parade. We are so excited to have a float again this year! It’s going to be cold, but it’s going to be SO much fun. ❄️🎉

📍 Drop-Off:
➡️ 5:45–6:15 PM
➡️ Wallace State Technical Building in Oneonta (next to Bojangles, near McDonald's).
All kids riding on the float must be dropped off here. We’ll have a sign-in sheet ready!

🎅 Parade Start:
➡️ Begins at 7:00 PM

🚫 Candy Reminder:
Please do NOT send candy with your child. Parade rules do not allow throwing candy, and we want to respect those guidelines.

👕 What to Wear:
Christmas sweaters, festive gear, or even their Sports for Christ shirt layered over a hoodie—whatever keeps them warm! It’s going to be chilly tonight, so bundle up!

🙌 Huge Thank You:
Shoutout to Coach Tyler for all his hard work getting our float ready! We appreciate him so much.

📍 Pick-Up After the Parade:
We’ll be near the Blount County Rec Center/Gym in the area of the old Agri-Business Center. If you’re unsure where to go, just send me a text and I’ll help you find us.

✨ Last-Minute Participants Welcome!
If you haven’t heard about the float but want your child to join, come meet us at 5:45 PM at the Wallace State Technical Building. We’d love to have them!

EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT!!!

We are inviting ALL players and coaches from this past season to ride our Sports for Christ float during the Blount County Christmas Parade on Tuesday, December 9th!

All players riding on the float should meet us at the Wallace State Technical Building parking lot between 5:45 PM and 6:15 PM! After the parade, you will pick up your child at the end of the parade route, the Park and Rec Gym parking lot, located at 420 Gym St.

No candy can be thrown from the float, so please don't send candy with your child.
