🛑 COLD CASE CRIME ALERT: WHO SHOT SHEDRICK CHAPMAN JR.? 🛑
CLEVELAND, OHIO: What originally looked like a tragic winter car accident turned out to be a calculated homicide. For nearly two decades, the person responsible for ending a man's life has been walking free. It’s time to bring this case back into the light.
🗓️ The Incident
In the early morning hours of Saturday, January 6, 2007, at approximately 1:30 AM, Cleveland Police officers responded to a severe emergency call at the intersection of East 73rd Street and St. Clair Avenue.
When first responders arrived on the scene, they found a vehicle that had completely flipped over. Inside the wreckage was 43-year-old Shedrick Chapman Jr. # # # 🔍 The Shocking Discovery
At first glance, it appeared to be a standard, devastating motor vehicle accident. Shedrick was rushed to MetroHealth Medical Center in a race to save his life. However, once medical staff examined him, the true nature of the crash unraveled.
Shedrick wasn't just suffering from injuries sustained in the rollover—he had been shot. Investigators quickly realized that Shedrick was actively driving when someone opened fire on him. The gunshot wounds caused him to lose control of his vehicle, leading to the violent crash that ultimately left him trapped upside down. Tragically, Shedrick succumbed to his injuries and died at the hospital.
❌ Nearly 20 Years of Silence
Shedrick Chapman Jr. was a son, a family man, and a resident of Cuyahoga County whose life was cut short just days into the new year. Because of the time of night and the sudden nature of the shooting, leads grew cold, and his killer slipped into the shadows.
But cases like this don't just disappear. Someone in the St. Clair neighborhood heard those gunshots. Someone knows who Shedrick was meeting that night, or who had a grievance against him. Relationships change over 19 years, and alliances fade. If you know anything, it is time to do the right thing.

🕵️‍♂️ THE UNSOLVED MYSTERY OF KURT SOVA: WHAT HAPPENED IN THE RAVINE? 🕵️‍♂️
It is one of the most haunting cold cases in Northeast Ohio history. Decades later, a family is still without answers, and a community is still left asking: Who knows what happened to 17-year-old Kurt Sova?
🗓️ The Disappearance
On Friday, October 23, 1981, Kurt Sova skipped school and later headed out to a house party on Harvard Avenue in Newburgh Heights, Ohio. Witnesses reported that the teenager was drinking heavily throughout the night.
According to records, Kurt eventually walked out of the party with a friend. Realizing they had forgotten their coats inside, the friend told Kurt to wait and ran back into the house to grab them. It took only a matter of minutes. But when the friend walked back outside, Kurt was gone. He had vanished into the autumn night.
🔍 The Search and the Timeline Anomaly
Distraught and knowing it was completely unlike Kurt to stay out of contact, his family immediately began searching the neighborhood. Over the weekend, family, friends, and local police thoroughly combed the immediate area—including a specific ravine located just 500 feet from the party house. They found absolutely nothing.
Five days later, on October 28, a group of local kids playing in that exact same ravine stumbled upon Kurt’s body. He was lying in plain sight.
The discovery blew the timeline wide open and pointed directly toward a cover-up:
The Search: The ravine had been heavily searched by volunteers and police just days prior. His body was not there.
The Medical Mystery: The coroner determined that Kurt had only been dead for 24 to 36 hours.
The chilling reality? Kurt Sova was alive for at least three days after he disappeared from that party. Where was he? Who was he with? And who placed his body back into a ravine that had already been cleared?
❌ No Traumatizing Marks, No Simple Answers
The coroner ruled his cause of death as an "instantaneous physiological death," finding alcohol still in his system but no outward signs of physical trauma or assault. Because of this, authorities have battled with whether to classify it as an accidental alcohol poisoning or a homicide.
However, investigators have long treated it as a highly suspicious death. The prevailing theory is that Kurt likely died or overdosed somewhere else, panicked individuals held onto his body, and someone later dumped him in the ravine under the cover of darkness.
Over the years, the case has drawn national attention—from Unsolved Mysteries to modern true-crime conventions—and police have partnered with university criminology students to re-examine the files. But Kurt’s parents passed away without ever knowing the truth. Today, his brother Kevin is the sole surviving family member fighting to keep Kurt’s memory alive.
Someone who attended that party in October 1981 knows exactly what happened in those lost three days. It is time for the secrets to end.

Ryan, a resident of Middleburg Heights, was a devoted father to two young children—who were just 6 weeks and 2 years old at the time of his death.

Investigators believe that while key suspects may have passed away, there are still individuals alive who hold the final pieces of the puzzle.
