Connie and I are proud to represent our sisterhood within the brotherhood. It was really amazing to be able to let everyone know that we will have our own memorial monument, and it will be magnificent.

The women in my group wanted a reason to go out and dance so now we have a reason. We can all celebrate the impending monument and raise money for it at the same time.
We are grateful to have sponsored half the band along with Fran Haasch Law Group for FULL THROTTLE to play at the fundraiser. They are a local fenom that is gonna rock our night away!

Women make a difference, this is a poignant reminder of our place in time

12th Evac Hospital Nurse Jane Piper:
Jane Piper, a dedicated US Army Nurse Corps, exemplified courage and compassion during her service in the Vietnam War, as vividly recounted in her personal oral history featured in the book Strange Ground: Americans in Vietnam, 1945-1975.

Deployed to the war zone in Cu Chi amid the intense combat and medical crises of the era, she worked tirelessly in military hospitals, treating severely wounded American soldiers, Vietnamese civilians, and even enemy combatants under grueling conditions that included long shifts, extreme heat, constant threats from rocket attacks, and the emotional toll of high-casualty influxes via medevac helicopters.

Piper's experiences highlighted the profound challenges of wartime nursing from managing catastrophic injuries caused by modern weaponry and b***y traps to grappling with the moral complexities of the conflict yet her steadfast commitment to saving lives and providing comfort in chaos embodied the resilience of the approximately 5,000 Army nurses who served in Vietnam, contributing immeasurably to the war effort while often facing overlooked sacrifices upon returning home.

Her story remains a poignant testament to the vital, heroic role of women in one of America's most divisive wars.

“Structured and disciplined pick up in the company area”, meaning they tossed the entire area, bunk beds in pieces, locker contents all over the floor. And if they find contraband, punishment is swift and done in a variety of ways.

At the HEP Homeless Veteran Standdown.
Met some really great people and some female vets that could use a little push up.
Why do I do this stuff? I’m selfish… because it makes me feel really good to help others. That’s why I do it.
The DJ didn’t show, so I stepped up and sang the national anthem. Yup, I sang soprano in a choir. Surprise.
I had so much fun at this event. Thank you Tami and the staff at HEP staff for being so good to our vets.
