Hello,

As you are already aware, “Giving Tuesday” is today. Since other charities are asking for support, this year the AVRF has decided to be among one of them. Although we do our best to support everyone with vitiligo, the AVRF focuses on children.
I cannot imagine what a child goes through from his or her peers. The bullying, pointing, rejection are more than many can endure. As a charity, the AVRF holds a yearly retreat where children along with a parent attend and spend quality time with other children who also have vitiligo. During all the years the AVRF has been doing this, I have received many “notes of appreciation” from both children who have attended our retreats along with their parents. Although we strive for the cure, for now we must help the more vulnerable.

Hi everyone,

Yes, I am back and will continue to ask my members to help with the following:
Each year the AVRF “pays it forward” and we will continue to do so. As I wrote below, we did not donate for 2022. COVID created a problem and everyone had to adjust, but we are back and will resume our past programs. Publix ( a local grocery store), informed us that the “marines” will be by on December 12, 2022 to pick up the toys donated, but we will have to get the gifts down no later than December 10, 2022.

I want to thank my members who already donated, but we still need more support for children who are truly less fortunate. ANY amount donated, is appreciated and much needed. Again, I respect that times are difficult, but little ones do not understand anything other than the joy a toy brings them. Please, make your donation by going to www.avrf.org
