Shhh... we don't want to jinx us, or maybe we just have the best kids around, but it has been a few weeks since we put up these boxes of sports equipment at the parks, and while one or two pieces may be lost for a day or two, they keep coming back!

So impressed!

(They may have a bit to learn about putting stuff back in the box but let's take it one step at a time!)

If you hadn't noticed, we've put a container of equipment at both Cerow park and the Circle Park. We have rackets, basketballs, soccer balls, etc.

We love driving by and seeing the kids playing with the equipment. The little ones love it! We have a sign to encourage everything to be returned after being used. If you happen to see something lying about, you can help us by putting it in the box.

We're also accepting donations of equipment (no hard bats or balls please) at the American Legion in Clayton. Don't just put them in the boxes as we're trying to keep a consistent inventory.

Please stop down to the American Legion to purchase tickets for this fantastic chain saw ensemble. Drawing is next week!
All funds go directly into our charitable endeavors.

Donated to us by our senior, wisest member,
the esteemed fixer of small engines,
our brilliant and talented photographer,
a savant of area property titles (weird, right?),
an expert in odd facts that never come up in normal conversation,
the brilliant Stan Brill.

Parents,
In the event you're suddenly in a position trying to teach your child to ride a bicycle, here is a process that won't require training wheels.

Strap on the helmet and make sure it fits snugly.

Remove the pedals with a wrench (The left one turns opposite). Lower the seat and let them push off the ground with their feet and glide. Encourage longer and longer glides, or even down a small hill.

Then, attach the pedals, raise the seat a bit, and put one pedal in the 2pm position. Teach them to push down hard and glide. Eventually, they will find the other pedal as they're gliding and they'll be pedaling before you know it!

And brakes! Don't forget to show them the brakes!!!

We couldn't have been happier to be able to add Bashaw Elementary to our 2nd grade bicycle giveaway. The businesses were so happy to take part and help us pull this together. Looking forward to doing this year after year.

We are a charity group that likes to promote charity and these children look like they're on the right path.

Thank you to the school (so helpful!) and all the parents that helped us out. I hope the kids are out riding in the sunshine!
