Why do we pause two minutes out of 11 November to remember and respect?

Because freedom is not free.

Because courage like theirs deserves our silence — our gratitude — and our faith.

On this day, we stop to honor every veteran who has served our country with bravery, integrity, and sacrifice. We pause for the ones still with us, and for the ones we hold only in memory.
At Pappy’s Promise, we believe in carrying that same spirit forward — living with gratitude, helping others, and always keeping the faith. 🇺🇸

For my Pap, his legacy, and the lives we are determined to change through his story.

Pappy’s Promise is an advocacy created to honor the life and legacy of George Michael “Mickey” Jerles — a U.S. Air Force veteran who served with strength, humility, and unwavering faith.

This organization was born out of firsthand experience: watching the man we loved fight not only cancer, but a deeply broken system meant to care for him. Through that pain, I want change and found purpose.

We are committed to advocating for improved veteran care, educating the public on the often unseen challenges veterans face after service, and serving those who served us with the urgency, dignity, and respect they deserve. At the heart of Pappy’s Promise is a call to action — one that invites individuals and communities to stand up, speak out, and step in for our nation’s heroes through meaningful volunteerism and support.

This is more than honoring one man’s story — it’s about rewriting the narrative for countless veterans who deserve better.

This is Pappy’s Promise.
And we’ll carry it forward — with passion, integrity, and faith.
