WILMINGTON, Ohio — Clinton County Auditor Terry Habermehl is urging property owners to pay only their first-half tax bills this year as new statewide property tax reforms are set to take effect this summer.

Tax updates!!

We believe both Warren & Clinton County's first half tax bills have been mailed. It's important that you only pay the first half and don't estimate the full year at this point due to the Property Tax Reform Legislation.

According to Warren County Auditor Matt Nolan, "Due to the late passage of House Bill 186, the State of Ohio has not yet provided guidance to enable us to determine second-half tax bill amounts, which in many cases will be less than your first-half amount. Therefore, we recommend paying only your first-half amount at this time. Paying an estimated full-year amount now will likely result in an overpayment, which will not be refunded until September 2026. We expect to be able to determine second-half bills by April 30th. "

Also, Clinton County, who is going through a triennial update this year, has had its schedule changed moving forward: https://bit.ly/2030reeval. So instead of the next reappraisal being in 2029, it will now be in 2030 with Warren County.

The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce has released the District Profile Reports for last school year: https://bit.ly/FY25DistRpt This link will download an Excel file. From there, click Enable Editing in the yellow bar, and choose Clinton-Massie Local Schools from the pulldown menu. This report compares us to the state average and similar district averages. You can also compare us to 3 different districts by clicking on the blue box and choosing a district from the pulldown menu.
