One of our talented students at the GIS Center has developed a new interactive tool to make managing your household waste easier than ever. This ArcGIS Experience Builder app maps out every Convenience Center in Montgomery County with a few smart features:

βœ… Address Search: Type in your home address to find the closest location.
βœ… Drive-Time Zones: See which centers are within a 20-minute drive of your front door.
βœ… Hours of Operation: No more guessingβ€”check the hours before you head out!

Check out the map below and try it for yourself at the link! πŸŽ©πŸ‘‡

GIS Safety and Equipment Upgrades
The GIS Center supports community safety by deploying drones during emergencies, a mission that depends on safely managing more than 30 LiPo batteries. A recent battery fire showed the urgent need for a fire-proof charging and storage system to protect students and maintain 24/7 readiness. A portable laser engraver will also expand STEM outreach, allowing students to deliver fast, high-impact demos in the community.
