Repost: URGENT! KEEP MOM OUT OF JAIL!

Friends, one of the moms I work closely received a traffic citation and yet never received the information about her court date, despite calling the court a few times. Now she has been charged with Failure to Appear on top of the original ticket!

This hardworking mom is already struggling to make ends meet. She should not face jail simply because she cannot afford to pay fines!

The total she needs to resolve the matter is $475 by tomorrow (Thursday) morning. That’s just 10 of us giving $48.

One of my dear friends is a domestic violence survivor and single mama who urgently needs a reliable car.

She was laid off from her remote job, and without transportation, she has been unable to find new work. **Right now, a car is the one thing standing between her & her child keeping a roof over their heads. With reliable transportation, she can immediately begin working food delivery apps while continuing her job search.

I’m hoping to either find a donated vehicle or purchase a dependable car for under $4,000.

So, I wanted to ask my village: does anyone know a friend, family member, neighbor, or church member who is selling a reliable vehicle?

We’re especially looking for:
✅ Toyota Corolla
✅ Toyota Camry
✅ Honda Civic
✅ Honda Accord
✅ Buick “grandma cars” (LeSabre, Lucerne, Verano, etc.)

I’d much rather buy from a friend-of-a-friend than from a stranger online.

Most of all, please pray that the right vehicle comes along at the right time. This mama has worked incredibly hard to rebuild her life, and reliable transportation could truly change everything.

We are excited to introduce a new team member of Clarkston Cares, Kristin!! 🎉

She is excited to be part of Jesus’ work done through mutual aid in serving the greater Clarkston community through Clarkston Cares! She has seen firsthand how vital it is for families' stability to have a roof over their heads even through crises such as underemployment or illness.

As a part time program assistant, Kristin is here to support Clarkston Cares and its clients through social media, picking up donations, checking in with clients, and helping Ellie with anything and everything.

URGENT: Little Haley needs hotel assistance!

Haley (pictured) is a little girl fighting rare, life-threatening gastrointestinal problems. Just two days ago, she underwent *another* surgery to help stop her from vomiting blood. :(

Her mom has had to miss work to care for her daughter. But because they live in a hotel, missing work immediately puts their shelter at risk. Their hotel payment is due in the morning, and they have no way to cover it.

It's raining, and it's essential that Haley has a dry, warm, clean place to recover! Her family of 6 needs $475 by tomorrow morning to keep their room. I estimate they will need 2-3 weeks of assistance total to stabilize.

🚨URGENT!! MOM IS HAVING A MENTAL HEALTH CRISIS 🚨

Just a few months ago, Laila* was on her way to celebrate her birthday when she was assaulted by her ex-husband.

He went to jail—but after only a short stay, he was released.

Soon after, he began violating her protective order—stalking, vandalizing, threatening her and her home.

The stress became overwhelming.

Laila admitted herself into an inpatient mental health program to get help. She is expected to be in treatment for 2–4 weeks.

But here’s the impossible reality:

Getting help means losing work.

Losing work means lost income.

And lost income can mean losing housing.

Laila should NOT have to leave treatment only to face homelessness.

We need to raise $2,500 to help keep Laila and her children ‘s expenses while she stabilizes: $1500 for rent, and $1,000 for utilities, car insurance, phone, and internet.

I know that is a big need.

But she and her children are worth it.
