Hello LC Valley,

Stop by the Center tomorrow a.m. (Feb 20) for a delicious breakfast for only $6 ($8 with coffee and pastries). Breakfast is served from 8:30 to 11:00.

Eat, meet friends and listen to (or participate in) our jam session from 10:00 a.m. till whenever. (all levels welcome in the Jam).

To work up a good appetite for tomorrow - stop by the Center this evening (Feb 19) for a Dance Party! Fun Blues, Motown, 70’s, 80’s Pop, Rock, and even a few Hip Hop dance tunes. No matter what your dance style, this will be a fun dance event.

If you want to learn a few simple dance steps for freestyle couples or singles to move to the music, come at 5pm.

Potluck dinner starts at 6pm, dancing 6:30 till midnight (or until everyone is exhausted by 8:30).

just when we were starting to think Brother Richard was out of jokes...

A man is in bed with his wife when there is a rat-a-tat-tat on the door.

He rolls over and looks at his clock and it’s half past three in the morning. “I’m not getting out of bed at this time”, he thinks, and rolls over.

Then a louder knock follows.

“Aren’t you going to answer that?” says his wife.

So he drags himself out of bed and goes down stairs. He opens the door and there is a man standing at the door. It didn’t take the homeowner long to realize the man was drunk.

“Hi there”, slurs the stranger. “Can you give me a push??”

“No, get lost. It’s half past three. I was in bed”, says the man and slams the door.

He goes back up to his bed and tells his wife what happened and she says, “Dave, that wasn’t very nice of you.

Remember that night we broke down in the pouring rain on the way to pick the kids up from the baby sitter and you had to knock on that man’s house to get us started again?

What would have happened if he told us to get lost??”

“But the guy is drunk”, says the husband.

It doesn’t matter”, says the wife. “He needs our help and it would be the Christian thing to help him.”

So the husband gets out of bed again, gets dressed, and goes down stairs. He opens the door, and not being able to see the stranger anywhere he shouts, “Hey, do you still want a push??”
And he hears a voice cry out, “Yeah, please.”

So, still being unable to see the stranger he shouts, “Where are you?”

And the stranger replies, “I’m over here, on your swing.”

Women's Safety Awareness

At the start of next week's membership meeting (Tuesday 21st at 2:00) there will be a Women’s Safety Awareness presentation by the Asotin County Sheriff’s office at the 6th St. Senior Center in downtown Clarkston (832 6th St).

EAST COAST SWING CLASS & WORKSHPS

The Sixth Street Senior Center is offering a 5 week East Coast Swing 101 Beginner class, plus a two day (2.5 hour each) East Coast Intermediate level workshop for people who are solid with the basics of East Coast Swing.

The 5 week beginner class will begin on Jan. 5, 2025 at 5:00 pm. Ole and Valerie will be leading the class. Cost is $40,/person, which includes Monday night practice sessions.

The workshops will be on Jan. 5 and Jan. 12 from 2:00-4:30 pm. Cam Griffin will be leading the workshop. Cost is $20/person per workshop and also includes the Monday night practice.

It's not too late to register for our upcoming Country 2-Step classes, and there's still some room in the classes.

These classes will be offered on Sunday afternoons (3:00-4:30) for intermediate level, and Sunday evenings (5:00-6:30) for beginners and refreshers.

The classes will run from November 17 through December 15th at a cost of $40 ($8/lesson) including Monday evenings practice time from 6:00 to 7:30.

The classes will be taught by our local masters of Country 2-Step, Mont & Andena Hibbard.

Want to refresh your West Coast Swing? Register now for upcoming West Coast Swing Refresher workshop.

The workshop will be held at the 6th St. Sr. Center on October 20th from 1:00 to 4:00. The cost is $20/p. The workshop will be followed by 3 Sunday sessions from 3:00 to 4:30 at $5/p, where we will learn new west coast swing moves and patterns.

NIGHTCLUB 2-STEP CLASSES BEGIN OCTOBER 13th.

Nightclub Two Step is a slow dance perfect for nightclub, party or wedding dancing. It is typically danced to ballads, easy listening, smooth jazz, and R&B music. It is a great alternative for dancers who want to go beyond a simple slow dance with their partner. It's a popular style with wedding couples because of its romantic, slow, and relaxed characteristics.

Classes are 5 weeks on Sundays, plus practice sessions on Monday evenings.
