🚦 Traffic Update – Monroe St. & Washington St. Intersection 🚦
In an effort to address ongoing traffic concerns, improve clarity for motorists, and enhance pedestrian safety at the traffic light on the square at Monroe Street and Washington Street, a request was made to GDOT to designate the intersection as “No Right Turn on Red.”
Signage has recently been installed by GDOT to reflect this change. We are aware there is currently a visibility issue with the sign that will be corrected as soon as possible.
Once the visibility issue has been resolved, Clarkesville Police Department will begin a 30-day traffic education period. During this time, officers will issue warnings only to allow drivers an opportunity to become familiar with the new traffic pattern.
