Walking Through Miscarriage and Infant loss

Walking Through Miscarriage and Infant loss Walking through miscarriage and infant loss is a program of Compassion Women's Center. There is no shortage of pain in this traumatic loss.

A baby’s death whenever it occurs is a profound loss that touches many family members. Grief and second guessing yourself on if you did anything wrong is a crushing experience. We at Compassion Women’s Center of Rogers County are here to help with the many emotions you are feeling. We will listen, hold your hand and wrap our arms around you in love. Please do not feel you are alone at this time or

that no one understands. Many of our volunteers have experienced this same sadness and want to comfort and help you heal in the time frame that is right for you. We will meet you at our Claremore, Oklahoma office or talk with you over the phone. We are here to help you grieve your loss in whatever manner is best for you. We also have a comfort bag full of items we would like to share with you as you navigate through this difficult time. Please contact us to receive your comfort bag. Compassion Women’s Center holds three remembrance ceremonies a year. You are welcome to attend our spring flower planting, summer butterfly release, and/or Christmas ornament making and candle lighting events. All events are free of charge and you do not have to have met with us prior to attending. We would be honored if you would allow us to help you cherish your child at one of theses events. We would like to provide you with a comfort bag of items if you have recently suffered a miscarriage, stillbirth or infant loss.

Story Saturday ✨

At our center, every family has a story. Those stories are marked by hope, growth and resilience. All of them matter.

With permission from some of our clients we’ve had the honor of serving, we will be sharing real stories. Our hope is that these stories encourage others and remind you that you are not alone while highlighting the impact that support, resources and compassion can make.

Today, we’re honored to share our very first story as we approach our annual Butterfly Release through our Walking Through Miscarriage and Infant loss program.
"In 2024 I unfortunately experienced a missed miscarriage that was discovered during a scan with CWC in my first trimester. The next weeks and months for me were life changing. The group of women at CWC were beside me the whole time. From check ins to given me opportunities to remember our baby we lost. The kindness of those women will stay with me and my family for a lifetime. It made the experience of sharing my next pregnancy and birth in 2025 with them more special" -Shala

Thank you, Shala for entrusting us with a piece of your story. We are so honored to be a part of supporting you through both loss and healing. 💛

May you and yours have a safe Memorial Day. And may we all reflect on the gift provided to us by those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”

🕯️ October 15 | National Pregnancy & Infant Loss Remembrance Day

Today, we pause to remember the little ones who left this world too soon — the babies we carried, the ones we held for a moment, and the dreams we still hold in our hearts.

To the mothers, fathers, families, and friends who have experienced this kind of loss — your grief is seen, your love is real, and your babies are never forgotten. 💗💙🦋

If you or a loved one has experienced a loss in the last year, you can request to pick up a care box from our Claremore office now or throughout the remainder of October. Please note, these careboxes are available throughout the year and postcards are available for medical offices and hospitals to have on hand to minister to families.

No one grieves the same. No one can fully understand how you feel because no one is you. You are often the overlooked one. After a child dies, most people focus on the mom while you are left to find your own way. But you are equally as important. Your feelings matter. Your relationship with your child matters and continues to matter. We may not be perfect in the way that we care for you but hear this: We love you.

No matter how long your child lived, we know that it never could have been long enough. Father’s Day is a bittersweet day. But, you, you are a father, nothing in life or in death can take that from you. You are theirs and they are yours and that is something to celebrate today and every day. - a memorygrows.org
