I just wanted to show appreciation where it is due. It’s been a busy 24 hours here in Wayne county. Yesterday, we were called out to a structure fire where both Cisne and Mt.Erie stations responded within our district. Thank you to those firefighters who worked hard to save the house, while containing the fire to an outbuilding.
Immediately following, we proudly led our regional champions around the Cisne area and welcomed them home to a triumphant success! Congratulations on your well deserved win!
However, we were also toned out again to what can shake a parent to their core. We responded to a missing 10 year old and worked with a tremendous group of people. Our thanks extends to the Illinois State Police, Wayne County Sheriffs, Clay County Sheriffs, Fairfield Rural Fire Department, Flora ESDA, Wayne County EMA and countless others who contacted us with possible leads. If I have omitted you, I apologize greatly. Many of you know he successfully returned after daybreak. We were so glad to hear of this.
It was amazing to see the resources that came into play. Multiple aircraft and tremendous amounts of manpower were utilized last night. For any of you checking your cameras, you will see flashlights and people walking through your yard.
Again, thank you everyone for the selfless dedication and time given not only last night, but every time the situation arises. Your deeds do not go unnoticed.
