Brave Choices On August 5, 2014 we lost our son Robby to a he**in overdose. He**in will kill you. A small percentage of addicts will recover but the majority will die.

working through the he**in addiction of a loved one. We have learned so much and we want to help others learn and use the coping tools we have acquired through the addiction and loss of our son. Our goals and mission are to develop educational material, groups, and support services for those who have no idea where to turn. Our immediate purpose is to bring awareness and provide education for parents and kids on the deadly consequences of he**in. We are a resource for support and services to assist families through the before, during, and after the funeral process. He**in is not a recreational drug, it is a death sentence. Relapse will happen. He**in is not an experiment. He**in = Death!

“Narcan is free but insulin isn’t?” Let’s clear this up.

First—yes, affordable or free insulin should be the goal. Lives depend on it. No one’s saying otherwise.

But let’s stop pretending Narcan is “free.”
Narcan distribution is funded by settlement money from lawsuits against companies like Purdue Pharma, who profited from misleading marketing of OxyContin and fueled the opioid crisis.

That’s right—what you call “free Narcan” is actually paid for with money recovered from death and destruction. It’s not a gift. It’s a response to a nationwide crisis that’s taken hundreds of thousands of lives.

Narcan is emergency medicine. It reverses an overdose in seconds. You don’t give it daily—you give it when someone is dying. We hand it out because lives are worth saving, no matter how they got here.

So yes, let’s fight for affordable insulin.
But don’t weaponize that fight to shame harm reduction. One doesn’t have to come at the cost of the other.

Narcan saves lives. So would free insulin.

Thanks to your support today we purchased items to fill our empty boys Size 4, 5, and 6.

To be quite transparent it is very early in the season to have to purchase items to fill bins. If you have any boys Size 3t-5t please consider dropping off to A Caring Place. Donations can be made anytime during business hours. M, T, Th & Friday 10-4:00, as well as Monday & Wednesday 6-8:00pm.
