🌟 Bridges to Wellness CHW Day Series 🌟
Today, we're highlighting a success story that demonstrates the power of connection and community resources.
One of our Community Health Workers partnered with SEAT (South East Area Transit) to help a participant overcome a transportation barrier that was standing in the way of reaching important goals. By connecting the participant to reliable transportation services, the CHW helped ensure access to essential appointments and resources needed for success.
Transportation is often more than just getting from one place to another—it can be the key to employment, healthcare, education, and independence. Through advocacy, resource navigation, and partnership with organizations like SEAT, our CHWs help participants remove barriers and move closer to achieving their goals.
As featured- Tiffany Cornett, CHW in Muskingum County, one of the proudest moments is helping participants graduate from programs and supporting others by connecting them to essential transportation services.
đź’™ Thank you to our dedicated Community Health Workers for making a difference every day and to our community partners for helping us build healthier, stronger communities.

💙 CHW Spotlight Series – What Are You Proud Of? 💙
For our second Community Health Worker spotlight, we’re proud to highlight the incredible work happening right here in our community.
This week, we’re featuring Jessica Yost who is making a meaningful impact by “Connecting Moms to Diapers.” Access to basic necessities like diapers can make a huge difference for families, and this work helps reduce stress and supports healthier, happier homes.
Being a Community Health Worker is about more than just providing resources—it’s about building trust, meeting people where they are, and making sure no one feels alone.
👏 We are so proud of the dedication, compassion, and heart that goes into this work every single day.
Stay tuned as we continue to share more stories from our CHW team and the amazing ways they are making a difference!

✨ Celebrating CHW Day with a little rest, reflection, and self-care. ✨

Community Health Workers spend so much of their time supporting others, advocating for their communities, and showing up when people need them most. Last Friday, we had the opportunity to pour back into them.

A special thank you to Beth Hill from A Hint of Sage Yoga & Wellness for leading our CHWs through a relaxing and restorative wellness experience. Through intentional movement, mindfulness, and moments of calm, our team was encouraged to slow down, breathe deeply, and prioritize their own well-being.

Self-care isn’t a luxury—it’s an essential part of sustaining the important work CHWs do every day. We are grateful for the chance to honor and celebrate these dedicated professionals who continue to make a difference in the lives of so many.

đź’™ Thank you, CHWs, for your compassion, advocacy, and commitment to building healthier communities. You are appreciated today and every day.

COMMUNITY HEALTH WORKER DAY CELEBRATION đź’™

Yesterday, June 5th, many of our Bridges to Wellness Community Health Workers gathered together at the beautiful Sunday Studio here New Philadelphia to celebrate Community Health Worker Day and honor the incredible impact these dedicated individuals make in our communities every day.

Governor Mike DeWine has officially proclaimed June 6th as Community Health Worker Day in Ohio, recognizing the vital role Community Health Workers play in increasing health equity, reducing health disparities, lowering preventable death rates, and bridging the gap between vulnerable, low-income, minority, and underserved populations and the healthcare system.

We were thrilled to have many of our Community Health Workers representing over our 11-county service area join us for a day dedicated entirely to self-care, connection, and appreciation. More details to come about the amazing day, and what we did to celebrate!

Community Health Workers spend their days supporting others—connecting individuals to resources, advocating for those in need, providing education, and helping community members navigate complex systems. Their compassion, dedication, and commitment make a lasting difference in the lives of countless individuals and families.

This annual celebration is one of our favorite traditions because it allows us to pause and recognize the extraordinary work our CHWs do every day. While they are often the ones encouraging others to prioritize their health and well-being, this special day gives us the opportunity to focus on them and show our appreciation for all they contribute.

To all of our Bridges to Wellness Community Health Workers: Thank you for your unwavering dedication, your servant hearts, and your commitment to improving the health and well-being of our communities. We are proud to celebrate you today and every day!

Happy Community Health Worker Day! 💙✨

News Release – 6/3/26
*Tuscarawas County Health Department Will Host Free Car Seat Check Event on Monday, June 15*

NEW PHILADELPHIA, OHIO – The Tuscarawas County Health Department (TCHD) is partnering with the New Philadelphia City Health Department, and New Philadelphia Fire Department to host a free Car Seat Check Event on Monday, June 15, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Walmart parking lot located at 231 Bluebell Drive SW, New Philadelphia.

Motor vehicle crashes remain a leading cause of injury for children, and proper car seat use is one of the most effective ways to keep children safe while traveling. During this free event, certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians will be available to inspect car seats, verify proper installation, and provide hands-on education to help families ensure their children are riding safely.

"Car seats save lives, but only when they are used correctly," said Abbie Shankland, Child Injury Prevention Coordinator at TCHD. "This event gives parents and caregivers the opportunity to have their car seats checked by certified technicians and leave with confidence knowing their children are as safe as possible while riding in a vehicle."

No appointment is necessary. Families are encouraged to bring their child and vehicle so technicians can ensure the car seat fits both properly.

For more information about the Car Seat Check Event or child passenger safety programs, contact the Tuscarawas County Health Department at 330-343-5555 ext. 1530 or [email protected].
