A Thanksgiving prayer

Heavenly Father, on this Thanksgiving Day, we lift up all of our veterans and thank you for their selfless service to our nation. We pray for a special blessing on those who have served, who have faced hardships, and made sacrifices to protect our freedoms. We thank you for their courage, their dedication, and their willingness to serve, and we ask that you grant them peace and happiness.

We pray for those who bear visible and invisible wounds from their service, asking for your healing, comfort, and strength to be upon them. We also pray for the families of our veterans, who have also made sacrifices, and we ask that you bless them with grace and peace.

May our veterans feel our gratitude and honor today. May they know they are valued for their contributions and that their service has helped secure the freedoms we enjoy. Guide our leaders to make wise decisions regarding our military, always striving for peace while protecting our country.

In Jesus' name, Amen.

Renewed Strength for Those Who Served - Isaiah 40:31

"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."

Being in the military can be hard on both the body and the mind. Many veterans understand what it's like to feel exhausted and to persevere through difficulties that require more than they initially believed they could provide. The promise of renewal is contained in this verse. A reminder that people who put their hope in God are given strength. God lifts up those who trust in Him, giving them the strength to continue, just as an eagle soars high above.

I pray that this verse will encourage our brothers and sisters by reassuring them that the Lord can renew their strength.

I've been hearing a lot about what some members around the CVMA are saying about their expectations, what they want to see the CVMA be, what they want to change, etc... and it got me thinking. It's not about us. It's not about what we want the CVMA to be, its about what those we are helping need us to be. They are the reason we are here. They are the reason we do what we do, and I'm afraid many are losing sight of that.

I've been in this Association for 12 years. I've seen a lot of what it's gone through. In our chapter, other local chapters, other states chapters and at the national level. We pour into this organization and what we should be getting out of it other than just brotherhood and sisterhood, is humility. The humbleness of being able to say we helped those who needed it. Not for our satisfaction, but for the peace of knowing one of our own is better off today than they were yesterday.

What those who need us to be here in Cincinnati looks different than what those who need Columbus to be. 12-2 and 12-1, our brothers across the river in 1-5 in Northern Kentucky or any other chapter in all the United States, territories and places we have members stationed overseas, each one of our chapters is different and has different needs. All united under one common goal, veterans helping veterans. Thats our motto, not veterans serving themselves.

Too much complaining about things that dont matter in the grand scheme of things scares people off, fractures the brotherhood and tarnishes our reputation. What are you bickering about? How does it compare to the struggles veterans are facing all over this country? Is it really that big of a deal? We are supposed to be united for one common cause. Vets helping vets. Put your pride aside. Lock your ego up in your saddlebag. Be grateful for the opportunity to gather amongst others who are riding next to you and be honored for the privilege to serve others. Love one another as brothers and put your differences aside.

May God bless each and every one of you. I pray for your health and safe riding. I pray for unity and love amongst one another and I pray for the organization as a whole and this great nation.

Love for your brothers. We aren't encouraged to love our brothers, we are commanded to. Any hate and anger you show towards your brothers, God says you are guilty of murdering them. Love is the greatest commandment we are given. Love God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength, and love your neighbor as I (Jesus) have loved you. By loving others, Jesus said that all of the law is fulfilled. We are also commanded to forgive others, even if they show no remorse for what they've done, because while we were yet sinners, God is quick to forgive us. Those of us who harbor bitterness and unforgiveness towards others, God says we will not be forgiven. We forgive because we are forgiven. We love, because we are loved. Jesus came and showed us how to treat one another not by declaration, but by setting the example.
