Sorry about the radio silence. I've been on a worldwide media tour ever since becoming a part of the exclusive Seven Summits Club. The good people of Djibouti even presented me with the Tgunfig Award, pictured here (which is part Nobel, part Pulitzer and part 2K participation certificate).

This posts marks the end of The Seven Summits Challenge. So PLEASE -- if you haven't yet -- stop right now and make a donation to Keep Cincinnati Beautiful. Text "seven" to 50155 or visit: http://bit.ly/1WcHZJ5 Our city is a better place because of them.

Thanks for following along, and all the best with your adventures. Onward & Upward!

I proved it's possible to bag all seven of Cincinnati's summits while collecting litter along the way. If you think you have what it takes to do the same, well, do it. If you're successful, you'll get to display this handsome certificate, suitable for framing, and be the envy of everyone who isn't a member.

The movie and book offers to chronicle my triumphant adventure our pouring in. One publisher even went so far as to suggest a title and cover art. The cover pic captures me on my last push up Mt. Echo. As hard as it is to believe, it actually felt colder than -148 degrees. Parts of me have yet to thaw. (I won't say which parts.)

My lovely wife, Angie, prepared me a victor's breakfast this morning: pancakes in the shape of mountains and the number 7 and a mimosa made with the champagne presented to me atop Mt. Echo by Keep Cincinnati Beautiful. Speaking of which, if you missed my WVXU/NPR radio interview from atop Mt Storm yesterday, you can check it out here: http://bit.ly/1ZLIRJ8 You'll get a really good sense of all the great work Keep Cincinnati Beautiful does. (See ways to donate to KCB in my previous post.)

Final approach to final summit

Tough going on final pitch to summit of Mt. Echo. I'm thinking of Skyline and that is helping me push through the pain.

Took advantage of clear skies atop Mt. Storm and rode the thermals for a while. Cloud cover below prevented landing at base. Still had to climb down. It was nice to feel weightless for a while though.

Number 4, Mount Auburn, is in the bag. Once again, couldn't have done it without my Sherpas. Thanks for drying my tears before they froze.

Mt. Adams in the bag! Had to contend with some crevasses. Thanks to Sherpas for placing ladders over them and then carrying me. Dealing with a tad of snow blindness.

On the lower elevations of Mt. Lookout, we saw some hungry bears feasting near Starbucks. Getting ready to hibernate, no doubt. Kinda scary. But we made it to the top. I felt a bit disoriented and started referring to myself as "Maurice." I snapped out of it once we made it half way back down. Here I am kissing the summit.
