Brittani Gray, a proud native of Cincinnati, Ohio, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education from Central State University. Transitioning from the realm of teaching, Brittani pursued her passion for hairstyling, graduating from the Paul Mitchell School of Cosmetology. Today, she is a owner, freelance hair stylist and instructor of Be Natural Hair Studio
Combining her love for education, hair, and activism, Gray made significant strides by collaborating with the City Council to establish a nondiscrimination ordinance safeguarding natural hair types and styles in the workplace in October 2019. Her impactful work has garnered attention from various local news channels as well as national platforms like New York Fashion Week, Essence, Palmers, CNN and Netflix.
Expanding her community outreach, Brittani founded Girls Health Period (GHP) in 2018, a non-profit who’s mission is to educate, equip, and empower students experiencing menstruation and their support systems by providing resources that build informed and inclusive communities.
GHP’s Influence is felt with a reach extending to over 75 local schools in Cincinnati and spanning across more than 100 schools nationwide, GHP is making a profound impact. Brittani’s tireless dedication persists as she strives for a community characterized by equity and empowerment, fostering an environment where young girls can mature into empowered women.
