Our community is grieving a profound loss with the passing of Katie Meyer. She was a powerful, visible advocate for the q***r community in Northern Kentucky, and her presence brought light, strength, and connection to so many. Her vibrant energy touched countless people, and she will be deeply missed. We send our deepest sympathy to her family and loved ones during this difficult time.🌈🤍
The NKY Pride family is incredibly devastated by the loss of our co-chair, Katie Meyer.
Katie was the incredibly tenacious, impossibly organized driving force behind so much of our work here at the Northern Kentucky Pride Center. She didn’t just believe in making Northern Kentucky a safer, more inclusive, and vibrant place for our LGBTQ+ community — she actively made it happen.
She was a true advocate with a talent for turning ideas into action and making people — from first-time volunteers to long-time advocates — feel like a welcome, important part of the process. Whether it was leading the charge to create the NKY Pride Awards, coordinating our annual PrideFest and parade, or connecting members of our community, Katie always showed up when it mattered most. Always.
We are grieving this loss deeply along with all who loved her. And at the same time, we know the work she cared so much about doesn’t stop — it continues because of what she helped build and the example she set for all of us.
A Celebration of Life is pending at this time.
